I must be looking in the wrong place...

This looks open: https://www.frontierstore.net/merchandise/elite-dangerous-merchandise.html?limit=all

I took a random item to checkout, where it asks you to login, but didn't try and actually purchase. Did they just disable the final step?
I was referring to this: https://www.elitedangerous.com/merch

They used to have a lot more ED stuff...

ETA: That is one wonky website. I swear I clicked on something and got to a T-shirt with a minimum 3.8 codebase requirement but couldn't find a way to back there again.
The Frontier merch store does still work, rather than the old Elite Dangerous one which had different stuff and is no longer accessible.
I grabbed some of the physical soundtrack CDs from the Frontier merch store before Christmas, so it does work through to completion.

Me, I don't see any significant need to be for the Empire. I say they can keep their culturally devolved/regressed ways.

We have chairs to accommodate every type of CMDR. Including those of generous proportions.

If an emergency arises, I can temporarily volunteer as a comfort layer between the seat and its occupant.

I have my own chairs already. And don't think I need anybody to be a comfort layer.

Nor would I want that. It would just be ridiculous.

Safety measures are often dismissed as ridiculous, and look where all those people saying that end up - on a mortician´s table. And we want chairs.

Even then, chairs eventually break, but a CMDR lending a helping hand (and more) won´t. Not to mention the extra-sturdy axial support that will keep you perfectly in place.
