I need an Anaconda Build Recommendation

Im about to come back to the bubble after an expedition to colonia then to Sgr A* then home. Im pretty sure I'm gonna get to the 200 million Cr ish so i plan to buy an Anaconda built for Max jump range but for under 160 million (I will be buying the Anaconda for 15% off) i only need a 6C fuel scoop, one vehicle bay and shields (No cargo racks) the only grade 5 engineers i have are Elvira and Palin so can i get some suggested builds? Thanks!

(In addition to Goemon's advice)
One of the Anaconda's biggest weight issues is its class 8 sensors, if you intend on visiting Palin in Maia then you may as well pop into Darnielles Progress and collect the Meta Alloy for Farseer while you're there. Get Farseer to do the light weight mod on your sensors.
The Anaconda gets 4 big jumps from its 32t tank, by reducing the weight of the sensors you'll be able to add an additional 32t fuel tank which makes it an incredible sprinter. That additional fuel tank is one of the best things I ever did on my own Anaconda, the freedom it gives you is incredible.

I just looked at the build Goemon gave me and i just realised that i get an extra 5 Ly with a grade 5 best roll on the sensors. Which engineer that has grade 5 sensors is the easiest to unlock?

Lei Cheung or Lori Jameson - both of which will take considerable time investment to unlock.
A grade 3 at Farseer will be fine and the materials easier to collect.

lori jameson require at least dangerous combat rank, if you don't have that, I'd say Lei Cheung is easier...

for lei cheung you need to:

1. trade at 5 black markets to unlock the dweller
2. pay 500K CR to the dweller
3. level the dweller to G 3-4 access by spamming upgrades
4. trade at 50+ markets to unlock lei cheung
5. give lei cheung 200T in gold

... you'll also gain access to more lightweight shields from lei.

but i'd say that grade 3 at farseer is probably the much easier way to go.

alternatively, if you have an elite rank (or kickstarter backer access to founder world), you can also grind combat rank at a comp nav beacon to gain access to lori.

cheack inara.cz for the different engineers and what they provide.

Yeah i just looked at INARA and i see how hard it is to get Grade 5 sensors I'm only competent combat rank and 200T of gold looks like way too much mining for my liking i also don't have access to Founders World either however i hope to get elite explorer rank soon when i return from Sgr A*. I think ill just stick with grade 3 from Farseer thanks for the help.

i recently started a third account (my secondary has no hprizons and therefor no engineering), and decided to just go with 4 of the 5 basic engineers (todd the blaster is out of discussion, as i intend that account to never shoot an npc) - which is just fine. you can already get massive performance increases with just those 4 (elvira, farseer, liz, and the dweller), and probably 3 of them are enough for any exploration focussed career... as you aready have palin and qwendt, and qwendt does ENG focussed power distributor upgrades the same level as the dweller, i would just take what you missed out till now from farseer, if you don't have fun unlocking and levelling engineers ;-)

A 7D fuel scoop will cost less than a 6C and will scoop faster. Never undersize your scoop.

This is a pretty standard explorer build to start with https://eddp.co/u/F7Fx49ww
Only 164 mil with no discount.
You can adjust to your needs. Your results will vary depending on engineering rolls.

My personal build https://eddp.co/u/owV1nAJe , though I'll upgrade to an A rated scoop if I'm taking a long trip.
Downgrading to a less expensive scoop saves rebuy costs when you're in populated space.

I like using Engine Focused mod on an undersized power distributor to save weight and still have boost. If you don't have access to Marco Qwent or The Dweller you'll have to go up to a 7D and lose a couple of ly.

Wow nice build ill be sure to give it a go. You must have been very lucky on your engineer rolls.

I got a lucky one on my type 7's FSD range i got a 53% because of the secondary effects so i transferred it to my Asp Explorer. Too bad i can't use it on a conda since it's size 5.

Thanks for the build.

Try this. Standard explorer build with 65ly range https://eddp.co/u/YnLA7jZ1
Only 164 mil with no discount. Your results will vary depending on engineering rolls.

You know I was just playing around with Coriolis trying to figure out how I could possibly come up with a good LY ranged build and was having issues getting it to go anywhere past 48 LY as I was using this as just a proto type base (https://eddp.co/u/SS9MJwYX), since I like having the thruster power.

So with your build here, how is the Anaconda with only a 5D thruster?

It's fine for exploring. I had no problem landing and taking off from HD 148937 3 which is 9.7G. I might have a video of that High-G landing up this weekend. (Update: Here it is)
Here's another video of that ship landing and taking off in ~1.2G with 5D thrusters. https://youtu.be/JG56Sp_lK38
Speed is only around 200m/s so it's not a good choice for searching planet surfaces for geysers.
It's even possible to fit the Anaconda with 4D thrusters but it takes some work to do it.

For your build, your Power Plant is more than you need. If you drop down to a 5A, it will be lighter, it'll run much cooler and you'll still have all the power you need.
You don't need to have your AFM running unless/until you need to make repairs so you can leave it off and power down your thrusters to get the extra power when you need to use it.
Unless you are accident prone, I'd go with low power mod on the shields instead of reinforced. Saves power and makes them lighter.
Also a 2G PVH instead of 4G. I've yet to lose an SRV while on a trip.
You can size down the the power distributor too. If you apply an Engine Focused mod you can still boost with a 5D, though not as often.

Good thread this with some great suggestions. I'm new to exploring but an old hand at the game so I might just sell up my fleet and make the anaconda jump when I get back from my 5k trip for palin. Thanks all for the ideas and tweaks.
