I need help with graphics

Hello everyone!
So I've been playing the legacy version for a few days now and was just informed that I needed to install the Horizons version due to no updates or bug fixes in Legacy. Which I have done. The new interface is going to take a bit to get used to, not to mention that I had to start over. But the graphics now are just terrible. In Legacy they were absolutely beautiful. Now I can hardly read any of the words on the screen. I noticed that it did not ask me to let it adjust for my hardware configuration while installing like it did when I installed legacy. Any suggestions? I'm running Windows 11 with an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X and a NVidia GeForce GTX1070 GPU if any of that helps! I love this game and from what I understand no one is on the Legacy version anymore and I'd really like to play with other people once I get good enough, but if I can't get these graphics fixed I'll either have to go back to legacy or find another game.

Thank you!!

There is a method of deleting the graphics worktable etc to make elite do the graphics-run-through thingie. I hope that @Morbad or one of the other boffins drops in here to help you out.

Good luck

EDIT - I just remembered seeing a post that @Morbad made elsewhere about this, have a go at whatever is relevant to you:

Make sure that your supersampling is set to 1.0, and FSR is off. Sometimes it defaults to a mode where it draws everything smaller and then upscales it (which is fast, but looks horrid).

Start by using one of the Quality Settings options (Low, Mid, High, Ultra) to see how high you can go before performance drops too much.
Once selected you can play around with the various options within that Quality setting to fine tune the image quality.
But first make sure your "Diaplay" option is set correctly for your monitor.

I did this and it appears to have done the trick. There was also an update to my GPU which I think helped as well! Thank you, thank you!!

I will definitely be playing with this, thank you! I pretty have it perfect I'm sure these steps will help me get there! Thank you Decker!

Thank you Codger! There's no numbers though in the supersampling option in the game and I'm not seeing an FSR option. But I think I've got it fixed. I appreciate the response! Thanks again and have a great day!

If (after using the presets) you want to delve deeper into the graphics settings, there's an (old) video by Exigeous where they are going through the graphics settings and their effects. Might still be worth looking into, but (due to the age), don't take it as gospel. Things may have changed, especially with the switch to Odyssey.
