I need some explorer's input (relates to psychology and understanding of why some people don't get it).

If I see anything player owned my first instinct is to destroy it, which is why I would never own a base, as I am sure there are others like me. If you want to own stuff there is X3.

Not really sure what "ownership" would entail.

It would be obtrusive if my flight computer magically prevented me from landing on 'your' world, but if the only change is someone's name on it, then whatever.

I do think the illusion ownership is pretty silly without the means to enforce it, and I think an means of enforcing ownership with anything less than funding your own outpost and security patrols would be pretty absurd.

I'd love to be able to build something either in orbit of some godforsaken backwater planet in deep space, on asteroid, or planetary surface. Even if it's just a simple landing pad with one tiny building to take a nap in it or something. I don't understand how this could break anyone's immersion, it's a huge galaxy after all - chances are that none of you would ever stumble upon it, unless I give you exact location.

I still remember the time when I disbanded my EVE corp and decided to build my own little starbase in wormhole system. I did it all alone. That was an epic adventure.
