I need to reinstall...how to save my game?

This is true with the way they have it setup nothing is stored locally in regards to game progress
Your game is saved on the FD servers, so you won't lose your position. If you have custom controls set up, you will need to rebind them though, unless you copy the file that contains them somewhere safe - I don't recall exactly what the file is called, but it's got 'binding' in the name. Maybe someone else here knows and can help.
Hi, the location is \users\[yourname]\appdata\local\Frontier developments\...
Note the space there. I have one called Frontier_developments (with underscore) too, for some reason... that's NOT it.
In there you'll have options\bindings
But there are a bunch of other things as well, I would save the whole "Frontier Developments" directory, just in case. Then after reinstall, try to cherrypick if I find something that doesn't work.
Although this whole thing is separate from the install directory, so I would expect it to stick around after an uninstall, so you don't have to do anything. But hey, haven't tried it yet, so better safe than sorry.

did you uninstal it or just delete it? if you did not actually uninstall and just deleted the files then you will have all sorts of left over files and also have entries in the registry
also you should only need to log back in and then be able to install the game from the launcher

From the launcher, you can uninstall the actual game files. Click on "Options", the select Uninstall Game.

No worries, good luck with the reinstall.
It's still timing out. It may be my network adapter or internet glitching.
