Looks like an oversight to me. If they had other stuff in there it would have probably shown 26/36 or similar, with the 26 including the 4 platinum in the process of being bought.

Maybe the Cobra has an enhanced hyperdrive and auxiliary shield generators taking up the volume for the other 32 canisters.... :D

Luckily it no longer works like that. I hated the Frontier style where the ship was just so many cubic meters of space that you could fill with gear and cargo.

It might make sense if that system only have 4 Platinum for sale and you were currently buying 4/4. But I think it would still show somewhere what your cargo capacity is and how full you are. Hence a possible oversight.

That screen shot seems to show a sale in progress, not a purchase. So 4/4 seems fine if the seller has only 4 regardless of cargo capacity?

The error is clearly the whole Bank of Zaonce nonsense. Everyone knows that bank collapsed in the great galactic crunch of 2989. It's clearly some kind of social engineering hack or Lavian 491 scam!
