I posted a thread about a significant bug with rotational correction and FA-off in orbitals previously. I have recorded proof of this bug.

This bug seriously hampers takeoff and landing in FA-off from orbitals. It's random, but frequent. I have spent many hours trying to replicate it predictably. I haven't been able to do so.

This is a flight model issue, previous bug reports have been opened and subsequently closed by FDEV saying they've fixed it. It is not resolved. Please see the video examples.

I'm not a video editor by any means. these are pretty raw.

So, it'll be a ship type and good/bad/ "Good," showing the desirable behavior that has existed for years in this title, "Bad," showing the bug.

What input do you use for your thrusters?

I've tested this pretty extensively on my setup and cannot replicate the 'bad' effect at all. I've tried multiple ships. However, I use an analogue control for ship thrust rather than keyboard.

I've noticed that if there is a transition - say the black screen between hitting 'disembark' and making footfall, or closing the Insight wheel when on foot - any keypresses do not roll over when the transition ends. This means you have to release the W key and press it again to keep moving if you open the Insight wheel mid-jump. Perhaps something similar happens to players using keyboard to control thrusters.

I use an analog stick as well. VKB sticks. What makes you think thruster input has anything to do with this? I'm not putting any thrust in and am just letting the pad let go of the ship and it randomly yeets to the right.

When you have the bug it remains consistent until something resets something (Haven't figured that bit out...).

Cost me a rebuy in my shieldless Dolphin explorer during takeoff, "no data loss". So no biggie, but I would like the issue upvoted and fixed.
The "Yeet," can vary in intensity as well. I've had my fully loaded Cutter get yeeted into structures adjacent to the landing pad and get stuck. Have to relog to fix.

Same setup as you, I think, and can't replicate this. I wonder if it might be a bug in the controller or something not related to ED specifically. I had some similar weirdness going on way back...took me a week to figure out it was my windows 10 after an update. Re-calibrating my stick fixed it

I've had this bug for years since Odyssey's release with quite a few different PC's, sticks, and controllers; so have others.

Do you own a carrier? (I know weird question but... lmao)

This is the rotational correction in action, which takes an instant from the thrusters to react.
There is an option to experiment with it in ship's right menu. You know, you are taking off from a rotating station.

Rotational Correction only applies in FA-On.
