I quit

I just checked the game and more stuff has come back. But not all of it. Why is that? Is that because Steam is slow and is slowly adding the workshop content back? Right now it is slowly adding parks back. If I put it on A-Z and leave it sit, it'll revert to Newest which means a park was added to the list. I checked the blueprints made by others and those seem to be coming back, too.

i think so. see my response in one of the other threads. i left steam logged in for a long time (days in the end) and it all came good again.

Steam has downloads and updates while playing disabled by default. This sounds like you have a slow internet connection and it just takes time to download all the subscribed blueprints. But beware, everytime you start the game, downloads will stop for that time. You can enable downloads and updates while playing in the steam options menu. I cant give you the exact name of the option in english, i have installed in german.

but your problem really sounds like this, just be a bit patient and your subscribed items will be back. [big grin]

If you want the Steam client to force download and force download updates/blueprints, right click on the Planet coaster item in the games list, click properties, go to the updates tab. It should look something like this...

I have Steam cloud Disabled globally on my account, my DSL upload speed isn't fast - so it's disabled in the window above.

The global downloads tab looks like this...

And no, your purchased DLC is bound to your Steam account - you will never lose access to that, unless you lose access to your steam account in totality.

Did you made a backup of your your Steam Files before you un- and reinstall Steam? When you click in Steam on the first menu button (Steam) you have the option to save all your games and reinstall them. If you don't have do it, Steam starts new from the beginning and you must install any game new. If you use the same username, all YOUR data should be avaialable after the new installation of steam, but your saved blueprints from other players are gone. With a backup of your steam content, they should be available too again.

I was wondering where the file directory for blueprints was so that I could check it. I do still think that PC is a half baked game compared to RCT3. RCT3 has water park elements and animals which PC does not yet have. If you ignore the free form grid (which is actually a pain sometimes) freeform paths, and terrain sculpting, PC is a step backwards in some way from RCT3. Some of the RCT3 wall sets like shyguy’s and StationJimJr’s are just as good as the PC ones. I’d like to see PC a year from now and if it is any further ahead. The blueprints show as subscribed on Steam, but don’t show up in the game. All of them going back to November 2016. I checked the directory and yes, only 3 files are in that directory. The rest of the workshop files must have deleted but they show as subscribed on Steam and I can't get PC to recognize any subscribed items, even if I unsubscribe and resubscribe to them. Somehow 3 parks showed up at the main menu under the workshop parks.

Why do people want waterparks and animals THAT much? I don't get it. They weren't even that great in RCT3.

If we're saying PC is half-baked, there are core reasons for it, not embellishments like waterparks and animals.

Steam restore

I recently had to do a complete system reinstall. Operating system applications games and everything else after a major hardware failure. And since Steam game data is not a priority, I didn't have a local backup of it. It did take a little while but steam did restore everything that I subscribe to. I just logged into my Steam account and left it on overnight one night and it updated while I slept and the next day everything I subscribed to, thousands and thousands of subscriptions, were restored. So depending on if you're running the game or not at the same time, and your internet connection, I can see if things are coming back slowly. But they will ultimately come back. That's one of the major reasons why I do like Steam connected to this game. In my case, since I do not backup game data locally because Steam already holds everything for me, having steam there in cases like my catastrophic failure is a godsend.

Well, water parks are very popular today and a lot of major parks have a water park next to the ride park. My local park does. Some parks also have zoos or safaris.

Robert K - have you tried a different download location for your version of Steam? That and the option to download whilst the game is active will help you get your content back (the former may help it come down quicker sometimes depending on how close it is to your location).

i hear ya. This game is frustrating in a lot of ways. Theres a reason why rct3 is still popular.

I think my content is back now. But there is another problem, it seems that there is a limit on workshop subscriptions, the other day I couldn't subscribe to any more items unless I deleted some. It gave an error message about you can't subscribe to this item right now try again later. So, what I might do is make parks with subscribed items in them and delete them from the workshop to make room for new ones. I guess there isn't a limit how many items you can have in the game.

As far as I am aware, there is no limit of subscribed items. Seen people in other (non-PC) Steam workshop communities state that they've subscribed to 2500+ items. Granted, that sheer amount does cause slow downs in the game client when it goes to load it all in. [big grin]
