I really am the worst pirate

No, that was pretty good!
He'd be alive if he'd just left you be.
My last attempt at piracy secures me in atleast the top ten worst pirates.
Attempt 1)
I decided to rob some poor trader T6 NPC.
I forgot hatchbreakers, so I tried to shoot the cargo hatch out...
*Booom*
Attempt 2)
Now with hatch breakers, I attempt to steal T6s cargo.
First, I shoot out it's engines.
Just as it boosts. Towards a planet.
Even at full boost, it's getting away from me.
Several minutes later, it's out of sensor, and visual range, and I have no idea where it may have gone.
Attempt 3)
Trying to steal another T6s cargo, I interdict and drop. Target engines.
Ships spawn. Security I assume. I ignore them and try to disable the T6s engines again.
Then they new ships open fire on my T6.
Turns out they're pirates, and must be doing the same piracy training course as me!
I break off to defend my T6 from certain doom, and quickly dispatch the other pirates.
I turn to reacquire my target.
*Fwip*
I didn't bring a wake scanner.
So final score;
No cargo.
Several assault bounties.
1 murder bounty.
100k in bounty vouchers.

Ugh. I've got a 6 second video clip and 30 seconds of music from Pirates of the Caribbean in there, that's probably why.
I think it's more that your NPC pilot is a little trigger happy or had to work out some anger issues?!
They act so upbeat and casual, but their hearts are full of murder.

Let me tell you, it's made bounty hunting in the local RES a bit awkward.
Seems to be more like an unlucky outcome due to a trigger happy slf pilot What are the factors for the bounty amount you get for destroying another ship? 8,5mln seems quite a lot.
