I really hate to disappoint you...

But darn it, I'm really enjoying the game, the new SCO drive and particularly the T-8... My biggest grip is the thargoid systems go down so fast I have to hustle to join in the fun.... I can't wait to see what way to see what is next! The game feels so much more alive... I've been playing since before Horizons and it's been a journey. I can't believe I'm still enjoying a game I bought 10 years ago!

Coming after the past year or so, I really wondered if the game would continue... FDEV, you've turned the ship around and I'm grateful. I bought the Python 2 and T-8 early to show my support. Keep it going, you've got something special here.

Sorry to be so positive and all... Totally out of character

The T-8 isn't my thing but I'm liking the Python and yeah, the SCO has surprised me with how much I like it (especially since timing everything right has turned out to get another skill to learn).

Just need to remember to be careful activating it near planets or other bodies as the speed at which you can fly past them has created a risk to my underwear if I'm not careful with where I'm pointing when I push the button.

I've reported you to the mods, but they've no guidance for positive and encouraging posts like yours... so I'm afraid that you're on your own with these uncomfortable feelings.

PS seconded!
PPS props to the sound team!
Thank you sir... This positivity can't be allowed to spread!
What's the opposite of banhammer?

@Pville_Piper you and me both!
Good question!
Loving the T-8 as well.
Bit of mixed feelings about SCO tho, but it could have been worse 😇
I've been using the 5A rated SCO on the T-8 the last couple of nights to hunt down HGEs and it's brilliant! Been able to get to ones with 2 minutes left and 12k ls away with time to spare. If you have a Python 2 or the T-8, they really work well. Ive found that if you throttle to zero after engaging the drive, then when you get to about 4 or 5 seconds left on the timer, disengage the SCO and when the timer rises above 6, throttle fully up. As the timer drops, throttle back when it gets to 8 and ride it in at 6. Really works well.

For me, the T-8 is very manuverable, with dd5 thrusters and 2 pips to the engines it doesn't over shoot when landing. Mining with it is a joy as it can hold position on a spinning roid fairly easily. Very good capacity for a medium ship, I wish it had a couple more size 2 hard points, but I can live with it.
The supercruise manuverability is excellent, the Yaw axis is very good as well. It just handles so well over all.

Just not enough guns on it for my liking. However at least we're in a situation now where the best medium tading ship is a medium trading ship and not a multipurpose one.

Just need the Panther Clipper now and we'll have the same for the large ships.

I haven't done much combat with it... I mistakenly fitted a fixed beam to it, takes forever to take down shield! My engineered long range is waiting at the station to installed with a couple of other toys...

I just got a Mk2 Python today, loving the way it works with the SCO FSD. Not tried a Type 8 though, tempted to config one as a miner but not convinced it would be better than a Mk1 Python.

Please FDev release an SCO optimised exploration ship!

It depends on your style of mining. I like to do about an hour or so, my T-10 works well for that and also carries a lot of firepower and a fighter to boot. I like the big windows and the view.

The T-8 is very similar, but faster, busting out of the ring is way less painful.

I haven't mined in a Python 1 in a long time, can't remember why I stopped using it, but it might be that I stepped up to an Anaconda.

You should try "accidentally" hitting SCO boost before you hit the glide portion of a landing maneuver at only 30km up. Yeah, first you get the SCO spool up sound allowing you time to think about your mistake but apparently in my case not think about turning it off.

Yeah ... should of worn my brown shorts.

I Agree on all counts, except the Thargoid content. That's not a negative, because I'm not interested Thargoid content at all. The only effect it's had on my enjoyment is that I have to be a little more careful when plotting longer trips.

I'm still in the process of getting the T8 optimized for my style of mining. In-the-bubble field tests are going well so far. I'm looking forward to some outside-the-bubble tests after further adjustments this weekend.

I concur. The whole Thargoid thing just hasn't blown my skirt up - but that's because it's not my cuppa Any Na, not because there's owt wrong with it.

Hi All :)

Heh! ...You learn something everyday here...🧐

Banhammer definition....(Internet, Internet slang, often humorous) The power of a sysop to block a user or potential user from participating at a website
Sysop?....Another term for a moderator apparently. 🤷‍♂️...:D

Jack :)
