Actually, it's the lack of any type of comment by FD to assuage people's fears. I've personally seen 50+ threads criticizing the game, many of which had very valid reasoning behind it, yet not a single one had a FD post in them. I'm not sure what FD would actually say, but anything is better than nothing. Granted they don't reply too much to ANY thread. What I would like to see, is less people criticizing each other and getting so personally defensive. FD needs to ramp up their communication. We basically published their game, it's the least they could do. IMO of course.

This is the reason for most of what people call negative threads. I think pointing out problems is a positive thing myself, since when I do something, I'd rather know what I can do to improve it rather than to be told how great I did. But then I like to improve all the time, some folks don't.

I know, it's amazing how far it's came. I really don't understand the "lack of content" arguments on a beta build. We've even got our first expansion full of content in the Mercenary edition pack, as well as anything else thrown in from now until release date.

Let me just sum it up real quick:

There is no other game on this planet that has 400 billions stars of our own galaxy, the milky way.
There is no other game on this planet that has blistering space combat with amazing sound and graphics with occulus rift support.
We have a space trading simulator and politics we can influence and take part in, we have warzones and other factions. Apart from EvE and other older games, there really isn't anything that can match what we have right now on this planet, and it's still only in beta.

All I can positively say is: Frontier Developments - you have nailed it, hook line and sinker.

Did you beta test DAOC? it had nearly all the content at the beta stage, they did add horse rides to towns later, but in beta they had guides, people that would walk to the town with you and show you the way.

Most games have the content tested as a part of the beta, that why they have a beta to test all of the content that is ready.

It's true, it's all too easy to take the good stuff for granted and just have a poke at the rest.

I think the main reason for this is that we like the good stuff (and so don't want it changed), but we would like the not-quite-as-good stuff turned into more good stuff, and as the only people who can do that are (of course) FD, that's why all the negative/complainy threads.

But yep, the OP's point is spot on - sometimes we just need to forget the nitpickery and remember what we all came here for in the first place. Step back, and take a long admiring look at the big picture...
