I received a bounty for hitting the SLF of the targeted ship

Has this happened to anyone else?

Was in a RES at Jaques and was bringing down an anaconda with help from local enforcement. Was attacked by SLF and when I returned fire I received a bounty ! Thought hmmm this is a bit off ..... especially when I was then destroyed by everything else !

So I went back to the RES and targeted another anaconda which did not return fire to me because it was "busy". I then spotted a second red target, targetted and fired at it, which turned out to be the SLF. Bounty again !

Anyone else experienced this ?

I only suggest here (as I have done for 2yrs) we do need an AUDIO ALARM for 1st becoming WANTED please. It should scare us out of our seats and have us scrapping to select a new System to Jump to that has no Planet in it's path!

Has anyone experienced the same problem with system security ships on planets? I've noticed a lot of randomly parked ships on landable planets (parked in the middle of nowhere, at least a few kilometers from any outposts or settlements), all system security faction so far. I had a kill skimmer mission in Gunapa, and when attacking a wanted POI skimmer (WANTED, so no crime - I checked and did not become wanted in the system, though I never returned fire on the system security ship) the security ship nearby took off and then proceeded to attack me without it becoming wanted.

I wish there betas that lasted weeks at a time to test this stuff before it goes live.

Oh well, wishful thinking I guess

It was picked up and was supposedly fixed.

If you take the time to read the 2.2 update notes you'll actually see that fighters of wanted ships not being flagged as wanted as well listed as a resolved issue under the fighters category... but clearly, the fix isn't covering all causes of the problem.

One possibility of many is that the ships are launching their fighters before they become wanted themselves and this is causing the behaviour to not resolve itself properly.

What is the point you are trying to make here exactly? Taking a patronizing tone with me and in the same breath reinforcing my point seems a bit absurd to you doesn't it?

I read the patch notes and clearly that makes not one bit of difference to the fact that SLF is bugged in live.

I was just poking fun at the fact that there was such a lengthy beta period for this patch and there is an issue on one of the premier features. Not something minor and obscure, it's one of the headliners. You can either join me in finding humour in that or keep being defensive about it for no reason.

Unlikely in a RES ... the ships spawn in as wanted, no transition time. They launch the SLF when attacked.

In my encounter (described here) the mothership was already wanted, that was why I interdicted them.

It's kind of an interesting one though... In theory, a Fighter's AI pilot is most likely a different NPC.

Does a whole ship's crew become wanted because of the actions of the mothership's captain?

Conversely, if I destroy a wanted ship and kill crew members who are clean, do/should I get a bounty?

Hmm.

There is nothing patronizing about his post. Just pointing out that the issue was indeed spotted in beta.

A bit harsh perhaps? May be it just didn't come out right.

Fair point and thanks for the warning :)

Not had this issue, but had an odd one with a CZ. I was happily killing ships, and then got mobbed by five or six and legged it (but didn't wake). One of them chased me - it took a while for my shields to come back, and when they finally came back I engaged (he fired first when I was in range) - didn't become wanted when I fired at him, but got a bounty for murder. I realise I must've travelled outside the CZ, but it's odd that I didn't get a bounty until his ship was destroyed.
