I remember why I stopped bounty hunting after 2.1

So I haven't been bounty hunting in a long while and after upgrading 2 of my ships with increase FSD drive, I thought, lets do some bounty hunting and have some fun. So I enter the hazres and what do you know, there's federal security there and the biggest killer, Power Play related NPCs. So I target a lone Fed Gunship that is wanted and take it out. I then notice I am being fired upon by an NPC, so I start to deal with it. It is a PP related NPC. Then a wing of different aligned PP related group decide to do the same. Now I have too much on my plate and I get out of dodge.

Bounty hunting used to be fun. I could control the fight, pick and choose who I fight and when to engage. You can be in the middle of a fight and suddenly you have a wing on you out of nowhere. That is when I decided to just earn money the boring way by trading in my type 9. Safer but after a while I feel like stabbing my eyes out.

If you want easy mode bounty hunting, just head to a high security system, and avoid HazRes. Haz Rez is where there are no police, so the NPCs can mob you. HazRez is only for people who have situational awareness or can handle multiple NPCs without panicking.

In any case, you can control the interaction by grabbing an interdictor and going 1v1 if you prefer. It's not the game.

There was Police in my hazres at the time, hooray for bugs.

bounty hunting worked perfectly fine before 2.1. PP related NPCs should not be in a hazres. It makes it practically impossible for anyone who participates in PowerPlay to also bounty hunt without being swarmed by PP related NPCs while already fighting other NPCs.

Yea i was with Zachary Hudson on the update. Getting hit by Felicia winters npc was no fun especially with the super weapons. And that was in a community goal. I abandoned it as I was losing money.

Life in ED gets a lot less of a headach when you drop out of Power Play.
