I see a fair few complaints on the "copy-paste" nature of the outfit packs.

I can't possibly imagine why they have not made eye patches yet...

They don't have to be simple pieces of cloth either. Like the Solid eye it could be used to interface with our ship and whatnot.

Because SOMEONE would end up doing this:

Please can we have an MA-1, A2 or Irvin jacket in the store (preferably all 3) (p.s. if we can have the option of decorating the back of the jackets too, that would be very much appreciated)

I want my multi-billionaire,Imperial Prince (at 100% and i don't want to be a King for RP reasons) and heroic space pilot,to look fabulous like some of the major & minor faction leaders and representatives.
I have bought 3 of the outfit sets, which i have mixed & matched and IMO look better than just a space suit (i don't want my guy to be a less wonder!) but i'm fed up of him looking like a space-hobo with only 10CR to his name AKA a Federation pilot!
So please Frontier let me throw some cash at you. o7

Key thoughts I had on outfit types I would like to see:
- more casual / active, e.g. tracksuit / sweatshirt / hoodie
- more smart / formal, e.g. business suit
- military uniform (or at least something along military lines, given that our commanders are considered to join the naval auxiliaries rather than the main military of the powers)

Suggestions should ideally bear in mind the lore about Commander outfits, in particular that they need to work in zero-g, which rules out flowing skirts and the like :)

To begin, I completely agree. It's getting old.

But I don't really see what else people would like to see their characters wear. Hence this thread.

It's no secret that I'm a big supporter of the cosmetics store. And I'm happy to discuss that aspect of FD's business model in another thread should anyone feel the need to talk about that issue.

This thread is, however, simply an "I think this would be cool" thread.

So what kind of outfits would you like to see?

I rarely ever see my character. I do play in VR however, so when I occasionally look down to launch a fighter, I do see my characters legs. With that, I wouldn't mind seeing some other stuff. I'd take a nice pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Maybe an appropriate skirt... something different. Like you said, it's a bit copy and paste, not really worth me buying any other outfit packs in the store, as I don't feel they're all that different from what I have.

Honestly, a bit of variety would be nice..

Update

Hell, let's just look at ED itself...

We got..

Evil Grandma
Nerd trying really hard to be cool
Hot Mom
Rebellious teenager
Fabulous hair guy who appeared on BBC
and the laugh-a-minute older Sister who takes military life a little too far

Compared to this...

One is the Desperado, the other is the Rogue (just the coat) ..
Really, Frontier could have sold one pack with variants in it for slightly more; instead they choose a MINOR reskin at full price. Shocking as that is...

It highlights that we need more variety.

I would pay $20 to have Aisling's dress.... I'd pay a billion for Aisling.

It's not a minimum amount of work, they'd have to remodel the whole jacket. Which means they may as well make a completely new one.
Really? You think they'd have to start from scratch? I don't think so. Do you think that they have to build the entire SRV model from nothing, over and over again, to make the wheels turn? Do you think maybe they use some of the ship assets when creating the wrecked ships and debris on planet surfaces? No? OK.

I agree that some more head accessories, cybernetic or otherwise, would be welcome. Also some mid- or full-length variants on the jackets, for that cyberpunk look. The latter might be difficult given the way the modelling of the avatars works within the cockpit, especially how a long coat would work around the pilot's legs, but the relative lack of eyewear or other facial adornments is perplexing. At least the ones we have are free, but I reckon they'd make a killing in the store if they offered Google Glass / Jem Hadar style glasses, or earpieces.

Another money spinner might be outfits that are... ahem... "reminiscent" of classic SF uniforms. They key would be to make them close enough to jog memories but not enough to unleash the lawyers. I'd pay a few quid to have my avatar look like someone out of Buck Rogers or Space: 1999. You could almost do the last one by letting us specify two different coloured arms when customising the jacket. :)
