What do you think will happen Frontier?
When these players sign into the game, with a view to picking up where they left off?
Then they find that they have an enormous bill to pay?

Nothing will happen
They will get most of their investment back.

If you want to know more about carriers, read the faq
If you are particularly interested in carriers decommission, read the specifics here

What do you mean 'in debt'?

Yes it is their fault... they new the rules...
But will they return to the game?
Frontier chose to put those rules in to try to force people to play...
Is it not also Frontiers fault for, making it more likely that those that lose their Fleet carriers, if they choose sign in.
See what they have lost after they worked so hard to get it?
Then that causes them to never sign into the game again?

But of course it was their fault... Bah!
I would rather have more players than see them leave because of silly company practices...
They just need to sort out the mess FC's make of the system maps.
Not try to convince us that they are removing them because it clutters up their database...
(If you believe that... Well that is your problem ;) )

as much as it is possible to keep a fleet carrier, I still think this situation of having to pay weekly for the fleet carrier is very bad... the biggest investment of time and credits in the game...

sounds more like more sour grapes from the poor side of the galaxy.

understand from any perspective you have I guess.

some of us have so much credits that the cost and the upkeep are barely pocket change.
Once there was a time we understood the carriers were a type of reward, or a toy for the extremely rich to own.
I wanted 4 to 6, but we were only allowed 1 each.
so..multiple accounts allows a person to own as many as they like...

to repeat, a reward for the ultra rich, to those of us that have and generate so much cash we have little to spend it on.
having more than 250 ships and a carrier in each account, yet still having more than I can spend

not an end game reward, there is no end game.

time being the most valuable thing in the game, its only fitting IMO that some of us got a reward, a reward that so many believe continue to cost.
FWIW, for some of us it does not cost, or rather , the amount is so small, so trivial that if not for the upkeep messages, we would not even notice.
I spend more on trivial things and experiments, I jettison things of more value than the carrier upkeep quite regularly. - aka less than pocket change is very real for many of us.
..

if losing 1 deters anyone from playing, I would be surprised.
and for all those lost due to not able to generate the upkeep, again, too sad, learn math., better yet, learn the game before you over-invest and buy what 'appears' risky
the only pain for me are all the upkeep messages wasting space in my inbox. otherwise, I still wish we could have more than 1 per account.
for the ultra rich, would buying an umbrella, a hat or a boot protector have any meaning other than I bought a thing..?
a mobile garage was something I have wanted for many years, now I have several.

Its not in me to feel sorry for anyone that loses one, or anyone that has to struggle or to even think about the upkeep cost.
Basic living rule, don't buy what you can't afford.
