I made it a good way into Empire space to check out some of the systems, which aren't much different than the systems we were already starting around in Beta. In fact, it's worse. There isn't many missions or depth to them, even in systems with a population of tens of billions. The same haulage of Mineral Extractors is everywhere, and the only "new" thing I've spotted was an NPC flying an imperial version of the cobra.
I'm hundreds of light years away from the starting systems with no easy way of getting back. I have minor back problems so I can only play for around an hour at a time, and sadly I'm having to spend a large portion of that time going to the galaxy map every few jumps and trying to remember where I wanted to go because there is no waypoint queue.
