I Stand Corrected

Sigh... Here I was thinking Multi-Crew was going to be a failure. The first ship I joined, just using the find crew, was actually fun! Being in the fighter, stuck to a target as the helm bombards it with larger weapons is actually genuinely fun! So... Even if the payouts are a little, um, low, at least it is a fun feature that I see myself using often. Surprisingly, there was only one network issue, and my biggest concern is thee choppyness when using the mouse for gunner. It never is like that, so why now?

Networking, which is what practically killed CQC too, as well as constantly plagues the game in Open. CQC would probably be running strong now had it gotten a decent opening with reliable matching. Many who tried it out because it was the new thing never bothered looking back because of all the waiting around.

If multicrew can do better, I think it will be okay. The concept is a good start to build more roles for player interaction, with the CQC advantage of quick access when you want a change. But if it's buggy or annoying, it will die.

I was pulling my hair out about how bad the mouse controls were for the gunner.

And then I started googling and poking through the settings.

Go to OPTIONS > CONTROLS > MOUSE CONTROLS

Pull "MOUSE DEADZONE" and "MOUSE POWER CURVE" all the way to the LEFT.

Boom, silky smooth.

Yep, I was a Multi-crew sceptic, until I played it in the Beta. Don't get me wrong, though, I still want NPC crew & non-combat oriented roles in the future!
