Has anyone had atmospheres disappear after scanning them?

It has happened to me now twice, both of where were on planets no one has discovered previously. The atmosphere was there pre-scan and then it disappears post-scan. I tried it again, but this time a Commander had passed through the system, but I scanned anyhow. That time the atmosphere...
