I take my hat of for all guardian farmers

Well to make a story short here :) I have got to take my hat of for all of you who have been gathering the needed Guardian materiels.

I decided to take the trip 700Ly to go gather some materials to finally join in the thargoid war, and can I just say gsus thats a grind if anything, so for that I'll take my hat of for all of you who had the patience of this grind.
After doing a lot of relogging and gathering over the past two days (maybe 13 relogs all in all) my patience ran out, and I decided travel the 700ly back.

Before I startet traveling back I made the decision that I have what I have and if thats not enough then i'll just leave that part of the game out and go do some personal rescue again.. I simply didnt have the patience for this crazy relogging game play.

I got back and ofcause i only have for the gaus cannon class 1, bhut i know for a fact I dont wanne go back out there and sit at these spot for days of relogging just to get a part of the killing thargoids..
So thats why I now take my hat of for all of you guys and girls who had the patience for this. thankfully some people had the patience othervice this war would be kind of one way. :)

So I just wanted to put this out there for all of you who did this crazy grind, and say well done!

the trick is in finding a good place and establishing a good routine.
you chose which panels you want to open, which obelisks to scan, and find the fastest route between them. ignore everything else, turn off brain, rinse and repeat. i think the last time i got all the mats for two preengineered weapons in ~45 minutes including travel from the bubble and back... so hopefully you will heed the guardian call once again somewhen in the future, because the weapons are pretty (and) cool :)
however if you would like to just tip your toes in the ax then go pick the enhanced weaponry from rescue megaships. they are fairly sufficient for cyclopses, hunters and scouts. the azimuth and sirius preengineered ones are even better ofc... ;)

Yep, I did the full guardian grind and it is sooo boooring ;)
Truth be told, most of the guardian stuff is not useful. After more than 3 years, I only use the following guardian stuff:
  • modules - fsd booster, module reinforcement and shield reinforcement - 3 module blueprints total
  • weapons - modshard - it is pre-engineered so you need 1 weapon blueprint for each hardpoint, if you have 13 blueprints save some for later
Modshards can be mighty efficient in many situations, but are affected by anti-guardian fields of glaives, orthruses and titans.

Here are some videos on farming some guardian data & components. Luckily data can be found in not guarded ruins, so you can relog in srv.

Shadowsnog gave you good advice, Enhanced AX multis are very versatile and easy to get. Sirius multi from Mbooni system are even better, but expensive in terms of high grade materials. Multis are the most versatile ax weapons as they are the only weapons useful against glaives and around titans. Also excellent at killing scouts and popping hearts.
Some people like modified plasma chargers but I find them less versatile. However, my skill level is not great.
You may or may not want to pick gauss cannons as well, thats additional 2 weapon blueprints (but only once). This weapon is very hard to use, but if you get better than me you might like it.

To be fair it still was more interesting, than cruising from signal to signal, like a lot of players "gather" their manufactureds, I would say that it was VERY far to "crazy" grind :)
But maybe because instead doing everything at once (looking at my current blueprints stocks and unlocked modules I think that I did 15/16 runs, so IMO it's still not bad, do your math, how many jameson/davs/HGE relogs you did :p ) I mostly did 2/3 runs at once, usually with new players which needed a little guidance in ruins.

I did enough to unlock the ones I wanted , I think if you managed a full run you should have enough mats for the one blueprint( you picked up) be that weapon module or ship .
The tedious of gathering stuff for the sake of stuff quickly reduced my initial WOW factor of the guardian sites to a davs hope or commanders J's cobra or the koli discali Annie it's just some thing that's required multiple times for this game.

I have never been to Dav's Hope, seriously, not even once :)
When I farm raw mats I do crystal shards and braintrees. There and back in one evening. Used to do that with SRV but now we even have trick which lets you pick them up with limpets :)
HGE's take 30 minutes with 'quit to desktop' trick, just finding one you want can be annoying.
Jameson crash site is 20 minutes or so of farming.

I keep Phantom at hand just to stay topped up. Kitting out AX ships for all the different activities is very material hungry, but grade 5 engineered modules pay in spades. Guardian modules&weapons which have as an alternative human engineered ones are at a disadvantage. I unlocked all guardian stuff and only use 3 modules and one weapon. I tried guardian SLF and that is actually useless - if it does not die in 5 seconds from caustic clouds, it runs out of ammo in 60 :]
ED is always a grind, but some grind has benefits later and some does not.

It can be even 5 minutes.
Encodeds and manus have enough sources, which can be mixed into regular gameplay, I dont see single reason in doing that. Elite can be ultra grindy, or slighty grindy, everything is about used methods, and how far you want to go. Even my AX clipper hasnt maxed G5, because for me pushing 10 G5 rolls is simply waste of materials, especially if last rolls of G5 modules can yield example 1hp, 0,04 range, or 1m/s (yes, I did some modules to full G5 just to make notes and check benefits after each roll)
I also have guardian slf, but main purpose even isn't fight. It's good look at screens. I think, that it was my only thing which was grinded with heavy using of relog poop, and....man, if I could do that for all mats or unlocks I could just uninstall game. I prefer my encodeds from killing pirates, civilians, doing different missions and scanning wakes after completing CZ :p. I even don't try to find HGEs. They find me, when I cruise in different systems during doing own business. Without min maxing I really dont need 100 pharma isolators.

I have time, it's game, not rats race.

Reminds me of my grind. The guardian stuff was out since a while but not thaat long. There was just one or two sites and it required constant relogging. I unlocked quite a lot so it was quite a grind. When I unlocked the 2nd SLF last year I noticed it go a lot easier. There was some site where you simply relogged between two pillars and just scanned them without moving, that was convenient. ;)

It's more convenient with a fleet carrier. And you have to choose a small guardian site where not so many sentinels spawn and where you have a layout of pylons that is easy to remember. Then it's quite ok. I have not been there for a long time, but I remember there we're reddit Posts in suitable sites.

Not much, it's not like few hundreds ly is giant effort. Meanwhile for carrier 700ly means 2 jumps,with...well, currently 20/40m jumps arent uncommon :D
Dirt cheap dbx without any engi or booster will go here faster, and you dont need much more outside srv and point defences.
