I think something is wrong with me

Not sure if others feel this way but for the life of me I can't seem to find a reason to buy anything higher than a Vulture. I use my Asp for mining, my T-7 for hauling, my Vulture for PvP, and my Diamondback Explorer for exploring. I am enjoying PP pledged to Hudson so my ships to me fill the roles I play.

Can anyone give me reasons why I should get an Anaconda? Would it be safe to say that the Anaconda is a T-7 plus Vulture in terms of role it fills? Am I missing something by not getting one? The other games I played have always had a "goal" to reach. Level 50, better gear, better spells, but I don't see that in Elite. Once I reach Elite it is not like I will get a massive damage multiplier or extra external points and I am okay with that.

Wear your Federation badge proudly, commander, and what better way to announce to the world your inclusion in the ranks of the Federal Navy, than by owning your own Federal Dropship. They can be bought today at Vo Dock in LHS 142, at a 20% discount. Tell the salesman Don Alvarez sent you.

You might consider a Python, which will give excellent combat capability in a good size (almost T-7) cargo hauler that can still land on a platform. Some even like to explore in it.

No mate. You're not missing anything and you're doing it in the way I would consider "right".
Play your game, acquire the appropriate tools to enable you to play your game.
And play it.
You're done.
Have fun.

If in the future your game changes or what you want to do is different then go get the things you need to do those things.
That's it.

Right on Commander.

Well, to be fair, we've always known something was wrong with you (hey, you opened that door, we didn't! :D ) but I don't think this has anything to do with it. You're doing exactly what so many people on the forums seem incapable of doing.

You're having fun.

While I personally love my Python, I can't say that someone has something wrong with them simply because they're enjoying a different ship. Like you, I've not felt the need to rush my way to the 'top' to get all the shiny toys. I'm having fun doing what I'm doing, at whatever pace I decide to set for myself at the time.

All I can really say is 'Right on, Commander!', because you're doing it right.

I do find it more enjoyable to fly the smaller ships. My only suggestion is to get a T9 for trading, you can make more money faster.

I use my Asp for everything. I have become very attached to it. We have been through a lot together. I bought a vulture and sold it the same day. Felt like I'd been unfaithful. I dont think theres anything I would rather fly, except maybe a Python. I have a feeling though I would be back in my asp before too long.

I'm surprised there isnt more Asps out there.

I think you are quite normal, they all fulfil the role adequately to well.
I'd up the T7 to a Python or Anaconda/T9 since the profit/hr goes up. Personally I hate flying the T7 compared with the Python too so thats another reason.

To explain the Anaconda i'd say it is really the tank of the game and as such:
It can masslock any ship.
Have higher shields and more cell banks than any other ship
Carry more and bigger weapons than any other ship.
Carry a significant amount of cargo.
Jump further than any other ship if outfitted correctly.

However, being the tank it also:
Suffers from extreme manoeuvrability problems.
Suffers from low speeds even when upgraded.
Has an extremely high outfitting and repair/integrity cost.

In my opinion the Anaconda is the best for combat zones but looses out to the Python/FDL/Vulture in PVP and RES combat due to speed/manoeuvrability.
I think it is the best defended trader and the best exploration vessel under certain circumstances.
It is hands down the best racing vessel capable of 40LY+ jumps.

I'd advise getting one for that oil tanker feel and for defended trading but it won't replace your Vulture and deffo isn't the "best" ship in the game.

Much the same here. Vulture for combat, Asp for exploring, T6 or T7 for trading (T6 uses medium landing pads, so more flexible). Python as a bigger multi-role.
