i think the python might need a little help in pvp

i am not going to debate the changes to the python here, i want to talk about what we have now.

the python has problems in pvp, as much so i would call it nuubish to even bring it, considering the rebuy.
my group has allready destroyed a handful of python in group fights, even on last weekend before wings.

the problem i see is:
as long as the python is on the winning side all is well. due to its awesome hardpoint options it can dish out the damage and also has quite some staying power. but as soon as its team looses, it will blow up in most cases.
it is mass locked by a lot of ships and at the same time can not get out of mass lock range since it is very slow. to a lesser degree the asp has the same problems, but it´s pricetag and "exlorerish" nature might justify that.
and the thing about group pvp is that your group will sometimes win and sometimes loose.
i allready see ourself targeting pythons first when we see them, because they can basically not get aways and will blow up unless logoffsky.

i know some ppl like to say the python is just a heavy armed trader. but heck everythign about it screams "heavy gunship". hardpoint loadout, design, hell even its colour.
besides some other trading or multipurpose ships do very well in pvp, clipper/conda/cobra all do well.

unfortunately i dont have a good solution in my bag as of currently.
i hope we can talk about it and maybe make something up.

this is funny, noone even cares.

i think i should have chosen a better name for the thread like "OMGMEQUITZ" or "FDEV YOU OVERDID IT".

So what you're really saying is that it went from obscenely easy to kill just about anything, to now it requires skill/situational awareness as to when to disengage so as not to get killed.

Gotcha!

Gotcha!

you didnt do group pvp including a python yet did you ? you would know it can not disengage.

and judging by your sarcasm i think you think you just uncovered a covered whine thread. you did not. i didnt loose my python in pvp yet because i simply not use it for pvp, since i think its a sitting duck.
and seeing how many me and my group allready destroyed without them haveing any chance to get away, i thought i go ahead and make this thread.
