I thought NPCs had Engi-upgrades removed?

I only ask, because I've had a number of Dispersal Field attacks hit me today (in Solo Mode) when Bounty Hunting.
I also keep getting a load of impulse attacks and various other weird stuff!
I definitely recall reading a Dev update that said they were going to stop all that shenanigans business!

I don;t believe those warnings are completely indicative of Engineered gear. They are associated with the new mods because they appeared at the same time. Also, FD has said that certain, non-combat mods will remain for technical reasons.

You still get the warnings, even with standard weapons. For instance, railguns are an impulse attack.

Impulse attacks seem to be still in, but most other stuff has been removed as far as I know.

Rail guns are impulse, plasma accelerators are thermal, etc etc.
