I visited a geyser for the first time today.

Have a look around, some of the natural tourist locations have rocks you can mine. They tend to have some of the rarer materials that the planet offers.

Well after you have had fun taking off with the SRV. I find the taking off is fun, the landing .... not so much.

Geyser Jumping is a blast - pun intended.

Especially fun are the really high-powered ones (you will know them when you find them) on exceptionally low-gravity planets. I've boosted high enough to be passed by my ship as it self-dismissed and managed to land without breaking my SRV. Then I did it again, and again, and again. Then I had to stop and repair my SRV.

Yea, I also visited geysers for fun and see how high my SRV can jump except they are quite difficult to find where there's no tourist beacon.

Will they become easier to spot with higher textures in 3.0?

When vulcanism and geisers was first announced I was expecting a huge volcano with lava all around canyons and a Yellowstone grade feature. I passed by several planets that supposedly had these things and not seeing from orbit just figured there was a bug and it wasn’t showing. Until I went down to the surface and found out they are nothing but little fumes. Very disappointing to say the least (I used to have high expectations). The srv launch is still fun though

Not in Q1 but maybe in Q4.

The Q1 planet update really is just the colours. They should give you a better idea of what is on the planet, but not where.

More waiting again :(

Lol, same here.

It can be great fun!

Skip to 9:00 to see the highest jump 13.4km.
