I can't imagine a successful multi-purpose Corvette though. The Jump range is too low for me to take (even when engineered) for one thing.
My Corvette is currently in a "multipurpose" combat configuration that I consider multi-purpose because it has a 256 ton cargo capacity, a 6B fuel scoop, a dual SRV bay and an AFMU. It has military armor, 3 X 5B SCBs and one HRP so overall it's still much better protected than my Anaconda and I don't feel any need to use the larger slots for SCBs. I find my Corvette is suitable for short-range cargo-hauling and for SRV base runs or SRV mat gathering. It can even be used for long-range travel when necessary thanks to the large fuel scoop and AFMU for emergency repairs (i.e., if I need to fix a malfunctioning FSD or cargo hatch). The jump range is only 18 ly since it is fully armed and armored but with the large fuel scoop the travel times are actually rather reasonable. My Anaconda has a similar overall setup with a much longer jump range of 30 ly and a slightly larger cargo capacity of 272 tons but it can only fit a 5A fuel scoop and needs to spend much longer times refuelling after only three or four jumps on average. It still takes longer to get places in my Corvette but with the very short fuel scooping times the difference isn't as bad as you might expect despite the shorter jump range.
