I want my Vulture back!

After flying the Vulture for the 1.2 beta last week, taking out multiple targets in RES and Conflict Zones, I'm now back in my Cobra with my 800k pot of cash.

Went to an anarchy RES last night and only managed to get a single bounty, as groups turned on me for firing on their comrades. I got too used to the Vultures mighty shields last week and unfortunately my Cobra's don't come close.

I think I'm going to have to start a trading career to save up for a Vulture.

If I hadn't flown the Vulture, I wouldn't know what I'm missing. Ah, the two-edged sword of being a beta backer. :)

This is the main reason why I didn't play on the test server...

I've done it before (in other games) and the disappointment of going back to your old character/vehicle/ship can be a big hit on the motivation to play at all :p

I am just hoping I got the money to buy the Vulture... 22 mill is a stiff price, but I have a fully upgraded Asp which is worth quite a bit, as well as a fully kitted Cobra... if I sell both then I might have what it takes to buy Vulture + some upgrades + afford insurance.

*crossing fingers that I have enough money when I log on in 6 hours*

Loved flying the Vulture in the Beta.

I have already come to closure with the fact I will never fly a different ship than the Asp.

I refuse to buy trading vessels, no, I refuse to do trading as long as I can trade for hours without any interdiction. I don't think I will ever be able to affort a Vulture, let alone a Python or FDL with my current income.

This game does everything it possibly can to scare off any new players.

new ships... No casual player will be able to afford.
more bugs.... Omg the list of bugs now....
i mean really?
i just don't get this games developement at all, from a money making side it is totally borked.
ED should be drawing new players in with exciting achievable goals for casual players but no, instead they release two outrageously expensive tubs and a host of problems.
I almost have to laugh, the logic is just so illogical.

Cobra was always known for wimpy shields. "Downgrade" to a Viper. Viper with 3D shields has easily 20% more shield strength than the Cobra with 4A

My post was tongue-in-cheek. Yours is just rant.

I'm still loving this game.

I do have a fairly well kitted out Viper. Think I'll have to dust it off again and try it out again... The Viper that is.

I'm one of the casual players and managed to make 40mi by just playing the game and doing whatever I felt like doing, never grinded. It is not that hard to get, especially now that bounty hunting has been severely buffed, more big wanted ships and Condas flying around with 40-90K on their heads at RES.(some even shieldless)

I do think there should be more ships with lower price but it is not the end of the world Imo, you just have to not make it about grinding and more about playing for fun.

My two-week exploration trip to Sagittarius A and around in the galactic center netted me 27M credits in scanning data. You can profit by exploring!

Does your Asp have A5 or A6 shields and does it have mil spec armour? Either of them have FSDIs on em? I'll help you figure out what you can do if you give me an idea m8, at least then you can avoid disappointment when you get home ;)

I'm with you 100%, alas my cup of poison was the Python... I just lurrrrved messing around in one... On the plus side I never stumbled across a Vulture so don't know what I'm missing there.

The flip-side of beta is that I also tried the FDL and gave up very promptly with its madly asymmetric canopy/struts. It flies like a dream, but the pilot's view I found drove me mad.

I don't have so many hours to devote to this game, so am still bouncing round in a T6, with a long long way to go to afford the Python. Can anyone spare me 20-mil...

:D

I also flew the Vulture in Beta, yep great ship but limited in Jump Range once kitted out.

So my thought was great for local defence forces but not a long range Hunter/Killer unless it is transported in a Capitol Ship.

When I'm rich enough (long way to go) I will own one again as needed for missions but not a ship I'd own as an only...

... the FdL however.
