i want this..... i want it a lot! anyone want to buy a kidney? i can throw in half a liver

Id give my entire liver and then die a happy guy in VR :D
But really, some form of ghetto motion sim that is resonably affordable for home audience should become available soon, right?

Hi,
The motion sim chair in the OP is pretty impressive but I ended up building my own - albeit currently just 2 dof (roll and pitch). I've been in 'motion' since the start of this year and been in VR for over 3 years - all in ED (2100hrs gametime). I have posted details about my chair exploits here on the forum in the past, see https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...ust-moved-my-VR-to-the-next-level-with-motion
I've just finished upgrading it from 2 wiper motors (about 80watts) to 300watt wheel-chair motors. Boy - can it move quick and I've 30 degrees movement in each axis. I'm adding another dof to include sway with a 3rd motor soon. I included a pic below.

Cost me peanuts compared to the commercial sims on the market and its a gamechanger for sure. A host of us simfolks have already built our own and there are several commercial ones on the market. Now I can't play ED any other way as its totally immersive (I often have 8+ hour sessions).

I see with interest that the tech data in the OP link shows that their motion simulator fully supports Elite Dangerous. That means it requires game data. This is the single issue that stops us 'home-builders' from getting the most out of our motion seats when playing ED due to a lack of game motion data being made available from FD - we have to resort to 'joystick mode'. Seems like this company may have access to this elusive game data which is a bit disappointing really as us motionsim folks have been requesting the same for over a year now - never had a response tho. I'll keep developing my kit in the meantime tho.

I don't think they have access to anything everyone else doesn't.
I suspect they just put elite on the list either because they can use joystick mode themselves.
Or simply because of the xsim plugin, that no longer actually works.

That's ok cause products like these really are 99% used for racing sims that has motion data support.
Seriously.
What would fd gain by having motion data feeds but not let anyone actually use it ?

Maybe they don't - which means that the idea is not being entertained at all by FD at this time, or maybe they do - so the idea is beginning to propagate to selected/paying 3rd-party developers. I can only guess.

Your last point is exactly my question - they are gaining nothing extra by not making it available and neither are we. However, it would be an 'all win' situation now and in the future as the tech develops further if they released it (even if they charged for it). Still, I live in hope.
I'm off to do more in the CG now for the next few hours (in joystick mode).
Ciao

Is there anywhere we can add support to your request? There's probably a lot of us who are interested but have never petitioned for the functionality as we haven't dipped our toes into the deep end yet.
