I want to do a video of my fleet carrier arriving to me via a remote jump. How do I do it so I can be there in a ship to watch it jump in close?

I do not care if it is by the main star, I have always just jumped into each system by the main star.

I know that if I have the cartagraohic info I can jump it to a planet (I think).

But in either scenario which is easier, and how do I know where it will jump in at?

Or can I at all, like in the videos.

After watching the linked video I guess the carrier just jumps to your location near you automatically?

I just saw this in the comments: "When owning a carrier you can choose the destination of the carrier inside the target system if you already have the system map in your databank. Then when you can't cancel the jump, you can go to the target system and you'll see the carrier's future position post jump. You go there and drop out of SC and you wait for the jump to finish :)"

I hope that is correct, but I am leaving this here for others, and will comment again after I try it.

Anyone who has can comment and it will be a great help. Thank you.

Fly to the system your carrier is jumping to. At about 10 minutes before it jumps it will appear as a POI in system. Just get there before it arrives.
Thank you. I am going to try this on my next jump.

Do I need to map the system first if I just want to jump to the main star?

No, only if you want the carrier to jump to a specific planet.
I recall hearing about a gravity well being needed. Thank you. I am assuming I'll need to jump ahead and map a system and then I can jump the carrier intp the sytem then by marking a planet?

The thing is that there are videos showing the carrier arriving, but nothing as far as a tutorial to explain how, lol.

I may have the basic idea down well enough to try it.

I just found this which gives me a little idea:

I got it to jump to me but had no markers whatsoever until it was already there.

It never showed where it was going to come out, no marker, nothing in the left MFD as in the video, nothing.

Edited to add: In the navigation filter I guess Fleet Carriers was not checked by default, I fixed that and will try again lol.

LOL, I am going crazy here, I was a little too close and missed all the effects, heard tyhe warning and noise but missed all the clouds and lightning and then the carrier came into view minus the effects and slowed to a stop. I guess I'll do an exterior shot next time and zoom back a bit, I can zoom in as needed.

Sometimes, depending on the connection speed and other problems, the jump looks entirely messed up from the watchers POV, I had half a carrier appear once before the clouds and lightening and then the rest showed up, really weird!
