Horizons I want to know something

I have noticed from forum comments that the update to 2.2 may take a heap of time.

I loaded the game the other day and it was immediately version 2.2. No loading time. What gives?
I am with steam and online.

And, does that mean I have Guardians also?

My apologies as I asked this question in Updates section.

If your version says "Elite: Dangerous - Horizons 2.2" then you have guardians. (simply if you bought the Horizons season along with the base game)
If you only have a base game, your version will say "Elite: Dangerous 1.7"

You can also try and find out by buying a Beluga. If you see her in the shipyards, you have Horizons.
