Ok so we know that Community Goals in OPEN often attract pirate players, gankers or PvPers however you refer to them, some roleplay and others don't but there is more activities going on that increase danger in a system hence the community goals reap nice rewards.
However for example the Lidpar community goal currently happening is basically weapons and gun running. There SHOULD be an increase level or danger even for SOLO and GROUP players.......... gun runners would be a big target for the military!
Now playing in OPEN and adding other players adds a massive treat level increase I'm cool with this I had a pirate try to steal my battle weapons but he didn't manage it. If you choose to go SOLO or GROUP that danger is now gone or decreased by loads and you still get the same rewards.
Surely then Frontier it would be sensible for NPC and treat level to be much higher around a community goal? increase the number of pirates, or even add in blockade mechanics near stations.... NPC blockade mechanics would be really fun. Make it so theres an increased police presence and other facts should come into play. I might be wrong but this isn't really the case at the moment is it? I know a lot of SOLO and GROUP players are going to say they go into these modes to avoid danger in OPEN but there should still be some sort of balanced danger if I am honest.
After all if you play SOLO you still expect a level of NPCs in Elite Dangerous you just don't want the murderous kind who shoot without warning because theres no crime and punishment system in place.
