I was destroyed in 40 seconds at Prelude to Victory

So i started from the Prelude to Victory Cruiser when i fired at one of those surrounding security fighters. Well, my Corvette was destroyed in 40 seconds?!?!

"Shield Generator Attack" & Hull melting...

Did the cruiser fire at me or only the security ships? Are they so powerful?

If the little ships are marked spec ops, yes. My engineered chieftain bit it in less than 20 seconds when a wing of three of them opened up on me in a cz last night.

Station/carrier defensive guns ripped you a new one. It's the only thing in this case that would have lit you up so fast. So like, don't do that.

Shield generator attack warnings come from four things:

-Mines
-Torpedoes
-ATR security ships (only spawn when you've been really, really bad)
-Station/carrier weapons

Engineers made player ships so massively meta op that they'd sit inside stations blowing up ships as they docked, laughing at the station's suddenly useless weaponry tickle their stacked shields.

The people responsible for giving engineers license to literally turn anyone's ship into massive security risks obviously missed this relatively obvious outcome. Rather than admit that and work to correct the cause, they just forced the engineers to upgrade station defences to even more op levels.

To the point that they might as well have just enforced the no fire zones with, I don't know, making all ships prevent the discharge of weapons altogether in the no fire zone.

But, I digress. Blame engineers.

I suspect a schoolboy error has occurred.

Treat the place like a station - don't shoot its little friendly wasps, or it'll squish you. Ergo sum.

Station weapons used to be powerful enough to mess people up, but if you had strong enough shields and armor, you could sometimes tank them. Then this beautiful event in elite history happened:
To prove how hilariously broken regeneration beams were:

Instead of nerfing the oh, so broken healing beams, we were gifted with beefier station weapons. Heal beams are still just as strong as they've ever been, if not a tiny bit stronger.
