I wouldnt be as dramatic, the return to regional packs and more habitat birds brings hopes for future updates to the game. The most likely scenario is flying birds is the final dlc as including even just one in a dlc is rather unwhelming.
In contrast to you I See that as the Last likely scenario. Either we get Flying birds in a sequel or we will get them step by step within various DLC. Why Frontier should give us Flying birds and produce a Hype to Just Stop the Game Support afterwards. I think it is similar to more arboreal animals. They are just Not so far to make them Look good, move and stay in a realistic way.
It is what they did with JWE1 and PC. They made a super last pack that had everyone excited but it was the final one and no more.
I think marketing and sales explains this. New players when they get into the game see the final DLC advertised first, so Frontier will make sure the last ever DLC in the game will be a great/essential one.
Yeah, I agree unfortunately. I was still holding out some small hope for flying exhibit birds like Macaws and Toucans, but I'm letting go of that now. Sadly, it'll be one of the few areas that Frontier did not really excel at. It will never truly feel like we can create a realistic zoo without those animals in.
On the flip side, most zoo games have also never introduced flying birds. It' just that PZ is so good, I was hoping that they would go further with it; to make the best zoo game even better. But it is what it is, sadly.

Not I really dub they will come. The only way I can see birds besides fligthless are these:
- 1. Small ones like lorikeets or hummingbirds.
- 2. Flying birds like flamingo, crane or peafowl but limited in coding to dont fly, aka: shoebill or pelican
