Newcomer / Intro I will be helping out the new commanders tonight!!! Lets have a party!!!

***TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT*** DO NOT MISS OUT ***

@ 1700 EST, I will be 5 kilometers away from Brandenstein Enterprise. I will be abandoning 200 ton of power generators. Not worth much to current players, but can be profitable for the new people. I will be inside the no fire zone, and have no intention of attacking. All I ask is for some comms and perhaps adding to friends list?

Could be a nice way to make new friends, and answer a few questions. Maybe a few trade jumps together. I am looking for a way to meet people in the game. Figured 50k of cargo is worth helping out the new people and a nice way to meet up and chat, and a possible profit of 130k!!!

So jump on over to THIIN @ Brandenstein Enterprise for the party!

What a terrific gesture and generous meet & greet "gift" for us new commanders. I'd love to take you up on the offer, but sadly, with my download still stuck well below 50%, I wont even be able to get into the game, never mind work where Brandenstein Enterprise is, or how to begin to get there. I'll have to take a rain check for tonight, but do again in a couple of days and I'll be there!

Enjoy the party y'all!

I have no issues doing this for a few days. Just want to see a lovely group of Commanders all together. Think of it as an early Christmas present ;)

I can't seem to figure out how to locate Brandenstein Enterprise. Is there an easy to explain or do I need to read the manual?

Search the galaxy map for "THIIN" - Brandenstein Enterprise will be in that system.
Once you have jumped there, you should be able to see it in your left nav panel.

I'll meet up with you. I'm not a newbie (Beta 1 backer with a lot of playtime) but I'll gladly help out some newbies as well - combat PVP and PVE training.

Lovely gesture CMDR, may I suggest going a little bit further out as to avoid a cargo dumping fine because you're too close.

I'll swing over if you are still about when I'm done with work, see if I can lend a hand/ escort etc

Or even take some newer players into a nav beacon for some combat

Found Thiin from the map, but for can't plot a route there for some reason.. Route button is red and says 'Route unavailable'.
Also it is quite far away, 140LY, so I'm guessing it would take a long time with my tiny Sidewinder..
But it is a nice gesture, so thank you anyways :)

"but for can't"
Ingore the 'for' :) Don't know what I was thinking while writing..
Can't edit it out for some reason. (When posting this, an automerge happened which helps a bit)

You can currently only plot a route under 100ly, so you will have to plot it in two stages.

Sometimes you will find that you can't plot a 90ly route either, however give it some time (needs work from FD)
The button will become available once the spider web (blue lines) have finished drawing / calculating.

Also note, on the navigation panel is a checkbox for fuel saving or fastest route, fastest will use longer jump ranges (if your ship is capable)

+1 Rep from me! Not a newb, but still new. Great way to help some people out. If I get on in time, I'll see if I can make it out to your neck of the woods.

Good man! :)

Sadly nobody showed. I was there for 30 minutes checking out the station at close proximity. Perhaps we could set a date and time to meet up?

Just a word of advice from my experience the last couple of weeks if youll accept it. ;-)

I was helping someone out last night . I had some rares I was jettisoning . I did jettison / Abandon and it come up stolen when picked up. I then did jettison and that was fine , not stolen. Last week it was the other way round so make sure you dont drop it all at once just do one in case it is the wrong option.

Hey there, I just tripped over your lovely gesture while trying to find some info about the Update :D
I'd love to join in such an event because even tho it's super fun to just go around exploring without any Elite knowledge so far, it's sometimes a little sad when you're hailing other commanders and they don't reply >,<

So, yah...been to Alpha Centauri half an hour ago and was trying to find my way back to the area where I started, but if the location isn't all too far off of me then I'll definitely drop by :3

I hear ya there. I called just about every pilot I came across in the later gamma stages. No reply. But I did have two hang up on me. Com line opened then immediately closed. Good stuff. I'm not quite the veteran of the space lanes yet, but I do have a decent amount of experience. Still learning as always. It's awesome every time I discover a new maneuver, or land a sweet profit.

Commander Eli "Priest" Sorens in game. And no, I won't hang up on you. Always looking for a wingman. I'm currently en route to Sol, after padding the account and getting in a viper or cobra, I'm making for Imperial space.

Two hanging up on you? Too bad...well I shot you the request. Cmdr. Malkav I am :D *completely subtle name-revelation so others might be able to add me :p *

It's just occurred to me that this might be an instancing problem. If you're not in the same "instance" of the system on FD's servers, you're both there, but kind of in parallel universes and won't see each other.

To be certain of being in the same instance, I think you have to use Group Play, which means you setup a group and invite others to join it. Then when you start the game, instead of Open or Solo Play, choose the middle, Group, option and you'll all be in the same instance of the system.

Rep +1 for the philanthropy. I'm gonna do something similar myself this weekend.
