I will join the griefers and see if it is fun.

Ok, after being destroyed in Leesti last night and today in Lave for nothing (empty cargo space and no bounty) I will try to find out what the fun is all about and bought an eagle with dumbfires. I'll be roaming the rares systems and shoot anyone for no reason at all. Will report back on how enjoyable this style of play is.

Brilliant risk analysis skills and situational awareness demonstrated. Can fully understand your knee jerk post absolving you of any responsibility for your own actions.

Just to sum up;

- Operates in a popular and well known rare trade area.
- Fails to respect not only the inherent risk of any rare trading system, but also a known location of attempted PK blockades (Lave)
- Presumably runs a cargo hauler or something similar, through all the aforementioned risk factors regardless, as the correct loadout and precautions in any combat orientated ship make it nearly impossible to be terminated.
- Finishes off by making a heartwrenching post about the hardships of trading with obligatory rage reaction and vengeance complex.

So all in all, you failed to observe any risk assessment before trading in an open environment. Yet you blame the PK (and yes, he is a )? That's the easy way out. The hard way out for you is self realisation. Realisation that all the people crying about being killed or pirated are using obvious rare runs or needless 3rd party tools that pirates can also use (funny that). The fault is your own, especially with all the current hype about people being snuffed, you should be 'head on a swivel' everywhere you go, especially in a rare trade point. Not floating around drinking pina coladas, feet up on your nav console expecting to sail right on through, surviving purely on the good will and friendship of anyone you happen to come across. That's just blatant carelessness.

Meanwhile in other news, people are trading quite comfortably with normal trade goods, making far more than any rare route per hour. If you are in a type 6 or bigger, this becomes even more profitable once you find a decent trade circuit (which isn't hard, all you need is a trader bible). All with near zero chance of being interdicted because you are using an almost unpredictable route. The key to surviving in any hostile environment in actual fact, be it real or fictional.

If you are going for the no brainer path of least resistance and least amount of any actual effort, that any hero with a viper can work out, then you frankly deserve to die. Posts like this just deter people from playing open mode for no actual viable reason, when in actual fact, most deaths are a result of basic negligence. Its like a person visits a zoo, walks to the lion enclosure, takes in what is inside, then jumps down with a brace of fillet steaks wrapped around him. Then after emerging half eaten, attempts to look puzzled at the turn of events, before going on a killing spree of lions not actually anything to do with the zoo he visited.

Its insane self griefing swiftly followed with absolute denial. Some of the people playing this game amaze me. For anyone else reading this comment, feeling aggrieved because the scenarios described feel familiar, you're welcome. If the cap fits wear it.

You know that theres a very high risk going to a well known rare trading area and when you get killed, you cry here on the forums.

If everyone is armed to the teeth and know how to fly their ride when going though these risky trade routes, even if attcacked by either a pirate or a griefer you shouldn't be worried, its a fair game.

It's a dangerous place out there, its Dog eats Dog and if you don't train and arm yourself you will be an easy target for anyone, griefer or not.

What's the moral of the story? Learn to play the game. Not just trading in safety. Griefer or not its irrelevant.

If you're not confident of your flying skills to evade or fend off griefers or pirates, then stay out of these high risk / high reward trade routes and go to a far away place where you can only see NPCs.

Assuming the reason your unprotected cargo ship was killed was specifically to ruin your day is a remarkably selfish point of view.

Well, may the Void have your soul if you take out the thrusters and leave a player foundering as you pry out some cargo. I've heard that called greifing.

Psychopathic gameplay is exactly what you should expect if you're choosing open play. I have yet to have such an encounter with another player, so far every player I've come near has ignored me to go about their own business, gave me directions to the nearest black market, or added me as a friend after a brief chat. Even still I keep my eyes on the sensors for other players and take note of what they're doing if any show up. I have yet to be ganked because I never leave myself vulnerable to those kinds of tactics. A healthy dose of paranoia is good for a game like this, just assume everyone is out to get you and be pleasantly surprised if they're not.
If you don't feel like you can completely relax until your feet touch the landing pad, you're in the right state of mind.

Great, but too simplistic - there's something odd going on past couple of days (wanted psychopaths being able to loiter right outside Lave/Leesti stations).
