I wish I could do that!

I'm currently in the LP 98-132 Nav beacon, and a pirate demanded my cargo. I had 7 Superconductors and 4 gallium, so I dropped the gallium, and he was appeased. I wanted to watch how NPCs scoop cargo, and so i watched him - he flew right into it at over 60 m/s and gobbled it all up by touching it. I wish I could do that!

Now I'm watching him murder a hauler! The hauler thinks he's a fighter pilot. And now an Eagle! This pirate is truly a master.

Also, the pirate, after scooping my cargo, turned around at about 800m away and came back, then demanded cargo again. Bug?

Yeah probably a bug, I don't think Frontier allowed for the fact that someone may actually give NPC pirates cargo :D:D:D

Seriously though I expect that the code is built for RES sites and asteroid belts where the same pirates attack the same miners as the miners get more cargo.

It reminds me of the beggars in town, you give them 50p for a cup of tea and 2 mins later they are back like the first time never happened.

I always carry a couple of gold, just in case I find myself in 'Anarchy space' and need something to tempt them with. No KWS required, they make the 1st move and that is all the excuse I need.

Arry.

I guess, but he immediately turned around and started scanning. I think there would be a delay.

This is one of the issues I have with the game. The NPCs are very lifeless automatons that are programmed to do the same thing over and over again, they don't even seem to have a small level of persistence. Miners should actually mine, fill up and leave. They should drop the stuff they've been mining. Pirates should do the same. We should see them move back and forth between RES, SC, secret pirate base in the asteroids, and station. I'm tired of seeing the same NPC at the RES in a Python, then in SC in a Sidewinder, then leaving the station in a Asp, all in the same session. etc. <Stops beating dead horse>

Persistent NPCs were mentioned in the DDF. We can old wait.

If you boost when they start scanning, they get angry. I do too when I pirate, and i shoot when I see those thrusters flaring.

Well just a heads up, well as far as I am concerned anyway. If I lose a interdiction I usually hit the the thrusters right away. Mainly cause I do not know if your security, pirate or some grief kiddie. So any pirates reading this if you come across me like this, before you start to open up, just yell out, I will usually let you have some of the cargo.

Most of the time I can't waste time messaging, because my 287t Cobra doesn't mass-lock a T6. I hear that FSD disruption is being edited in 1.3, hopefully that'll fix it.
