I wish...

...you could sell your ships remotely. I am miles away from where my Eagle and Sidewinder are docked and need the cash. It is a shame you can't give remote instructions to your ships and have them fly/be delivered to where ever you want like you could in X-Beyond the Frontier. Ah well.

No, I don't think so. Remember this game is more a simulation; would you be willing to wait, and wait, and wait until they arrived?...

Because there's no way to communicate with other star systems or even within the same system beyond blurted SMS messages. Somehow we have 10 interstellar empires which rely on carrying physical messages around like it was the 18th century. I'm sure there's some piece of lore to explain this, like the Great Smartphone Insurrection of 3085 when Facebook became sentient and had to be destroyed, since then all forms of computer-to-computer communication are banned etc. etc. yawn.

As far as I know its because the supercruise and hypercruise functions bend space time, like the way black holes in Interstellar work (I think it was that film).
Basically you can fly in supercruise for an hour and it appears like seconds to everyone else since they view it from a different frame of reference.

Communication, even lightspeed cannot keep up. I mean we get a 30 second lag between us and Apollo space craft orbiting the moon, imagine the lag communicating between Sol and Alpha Centuri...
