I wished there was an ammo factory module

Or an ammo capacity extender as class 6/7 modules.
My fully Multi Cannon equiped Anaconda needs to restock after 25~30 kills in an average CZ... not fun at all.

And honestly, what would I put into the bunch of c6 slots anyways on a PvE loadout

High capacity magazine + synthesis = infinite ammo... :D

You don't need much to synthesize multicannon ammo.

Or use pulse lasers. :p

It's true though, my PvE Python and Anaconda both have plenty of space free for stuff, which i end up using on pointless things.
Filling then with H/MRPs just bogs the ship down and makes them fat and slow un-fun to fly.

I love the idea...but ultimately it's just eradicating every reason to use lazors, save for them being hitscan.

The only way something like this will work is having it active when weapons are stowed and at a very slow rate of production.

Continuous ammo in combat is destabilizing and frankly ridiculous.

It's meant to be more than just a space shooter...

Sometimes though.. I really wonder...
We've had more work done related to combat, new ways to conduct combat (Multicrew), and more berf/nuff cycles dedicated to combat...
And only a courtesy nod to mining (wee, turreted mining lasers, so someone else can hold the button), and Exploration (a couple of scanner engineer mods), and some hull buffing of trade ships so they can survive combat a bit longer, that it's really hard not to wonder.

They won't add it for one reason and one reason alone

"Synthesis"

Synthesis IS an ammo factory.

OP, here is your answer...... ^ ^ ^ ^ The basic reload is usually just a couple of the basic of basic materials, the stuff you stumble over on a planet surface or comes with most droids if mining. If i plan on being in a res in my all MC ships, i make sure i do a ten minute SRV trip to collect 20 of each for the Synthasis and i can then stay in the res until my firing finger becomes numb!

Nah, It's just tedious menu magic.

Really, I rather fly around with a full Pulse Laser loadout than go through all that menufiddling 8 times to reload all Hardpoint.
In fact thats what I do at the moment, even if the game hangs up anyways every 40 minutes in a CZ...

Mining is a bit faster to get the mats - for lvl1 reloads at least

Mining, SRV, whatever, the point is that Synthesis is almost as easy as fuel scoping!

Elite does not need an infinite ammo cheat. You guys should be grateful. Play a proper jet fighter sim. You'll be shocked by how quickly you eat all your cannon ammunition if you're flying anything that isn't an A-10.

Nah, It's just tedious menu magic.

Bought a G13 game pad. I have no tedious menu magic. I have "press button G8" to syth a reload. I actually have a full layout of reload functions, and it's all just one-button presses for me.
Took a little time to set it up, but it works wonders.

Synthesis is stupid. That's all I have to say about that.

If I am going to be lugging around free reloads they should have weight. Let them sit in a cargo rack or something. (I would welcome attacking cargo racks to detonate enemy ammo stores) This system of apparently storing all these materials inside the Commanders Colon is just plain silly.

lol, you know what?
I have a G15 Keyboard and a Roccat Kova (yes, I play with M+K) and other than PiP management I never thought of other macros. I guess, thats rather derpy of me... ;-)

You could always look at it as the game trying to tell you that the idea is to run a mix of energy and ammo-based weapons. Carry some thermals to strip shields and some kinetics to shred hulls.

At the moment I run with 4 Rapid Fire Pulse Laser Turrets and 4 Gimbaled Efficient Pulse Lasers and usually NPCs don't live very long as they cook up or their PP simply explodes very fast.

Sometimes I use some High Yield Cannons or Plasma Slug Plasma Accelerators, but only for some funzies - normaly I try to run as long as possible in a CZ until it crashes the game.

Maybe I try out a full Burst laser loadout next - a Beamlaser/ MC setup is not bad either, but then again I need to mod the MCs for double magazine/ ammo pool first...

But think of the instant gratification crowd! If materials are stored in the cargo hold, they won't be able to carry as much cargo! Or they'll have to swap out a SCB for a cargo rack. And if it's cargo, they could lose their materials when they die!

And that would be a terrible, terrible thing.

So please! Think of the children! Their time is precious, after all.

I don't even use synthesis. Don't need it. I have no need to stay in a RES for more than 20-30 kills. I like the break that running out of ammo gives me.
