I would like to do my first sector survey , but I have questions

Right , Ive been mucking about the galaxy for a good while now and Ive seen post before of pilots doing surveys of sectors and was wondering -
1- about on average how long would this take
2- primarily Im looking for new types of space beasties or notable stellar phenomena , does the frequency of finds drop off drastically the further away from the core we are ?

1. Somewhere between bloody ages, and absolutely forever. Depends on what you consider a 'sector'
2. Not really.

Hunting new Planetary Nebular is where it's at. The ones so small you have to find them manually zoomed in on Galmap. You will spend longer on Galmap than you will flying and scanning. There ARE some still undiscovered.

I'm currently scanning a D-code sub-sector near the core ... it has 13743 systems to visit and I'm 92% complete.

This has taken me a year so far of playing about 1 hour each day.

However, note that I'm "strip hunting" for ELWs, WWs and AWs.

I only DSS the ELWs and I only fully FSS a system if it has an ELW or a TFWW.

So most systems I visit I scan almost nothing.

Mind you, I should end up banking about 4Bn credits :p
