i would like to know if this a good trade route

Hi I have stared to do some trading and I keep hearing people do an average of 2k per tone. so far I nave never found anything over 2k, so far with my python of 212T, transporting consumer technology from 2 station at 16LY, I get a 271k on a one way trip. is it any good ?

even with the Slopey tools I can't seem to find anything higher than that. our could it be I use the tool wrong ? Also befor anyone post that I do trade some rares sometime.

Yeah your route seems fine. It's just about half of my cargo and profit in my T9 so I would say you got a keeper.
 
212? I would ditch the shields and whatever elce. 292 is the Python way. If yur not able to take a few bumps and lumps and pay off the MEAGER damage costs, why bother? 80 tons per direction adds up!

292? is that sheildless? I am running class 3 sheilds now, and get 284... seems like a safer way to go.
 
Depending on how you like to play, you can alter your loadout a little and have 240T of cargo, combat rated shields, and still carry both scanners and a fuel scoop. Yes, you lose some cargo capacity over pure trade builds, but if you like to do a bit of everything, you can kit out that Python as a fairly well rounded multi-purpose ship.

6 insurance claims since launch day..
When I only had 5 claims, Total Claim Costs was about 1.8 mil

It's not cr/ton you should be focusing on, it's cr/ton/hour. Most decent trade routes should average around 14000-15000 cr/ton/hour, which means an income of just over 4 million an hour in a 284 ton python with smallest possible shields.
Another important thing is the amount of supply/demand for your traded commodities. If those numbers are low, then you'll find your route starting to dry up after a few hours of trading or less.
 
This is my loadout so far. All I have left to upgrade at this point is the armor, power plant and thrusters. I'll lose about 1.5 LY jump distance, but I can live with that.

Makes for a pretty solid all purpose ship. If you're better at fighting than I am, you could swap out the gimbals for fixed weapons for more damage output. Runs fairly cool with those weapons, beams might heat you up a bit faster, but they hit harder. If you're not into exploration, you could dump the scanners for something else (armor boosters, Interdiction module, etc..) more to your liking.
