I would like to say ...

.... a big, hearty, thank you to all those forum members who have patiently spent their time helping out those who are getting to grips with ED for the first time (I wish I could say the same about me, but sometimes my patience wears a little thin).

When I first started ED I was overwhelmed. It felt like the original, but I quickly found out that it was much more grander than that. Dangerous even. ;) I had a rough time with ED at first, and found it difficult to get to grips with: I kept crashing into asteroids and starports, and having my backside handed to me on a plate in combat.

But, thanks to those who have posted helpful threads and replies (along with YouTube videos), I have managed to improve my skills and work my way through combat zones, trading, and missions, successfully. I eventually earned enough to get the next ship up the ladder. Finally, after lots of epic fails and complacency (when I had the time), I have managed to fly the Type 9 and the Anaconda. Watching videos about docking these beasts proved the most useful, because my heart was in my mouth when docking both ships for the first time. And wow, am I pleased with myself! I didn't even crash into the sides with either.

So, commanders, many thanks for your help in making my ED experience awesome. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it!

If you really want to thank me send me some bacon.

I didn't think this was possible but I actually made myself too many bacon sandwiches this morning.

Anyway, back to the original topic...

Agreed...this forum is an excellent source of information and help.

Liar.

There's no such thing as too many bacon sarnies. ;)

Until this morning, I would have agreed. Could have been that it was proper butcher's bacon about 5mm thick....drool. I want more now! :D

Thanks people. All I can say is that all this talk of bacon is making me hungry!

And yes, you can't have too many bacon sarnies. With grilled cheese. The art is maintaining the perfect bread to bacon ratio, without the cheese being too overpowering.

<Runs to kitchen and fires up the grill. The smell of bacon slowly fills the air.>

I do believe that's a gammon steak, what what. ;)

And how the heck did this thread get onto bacon? :D

Years ago I was regularly travelling out to Hong Kong for work.
The ex-pats out there would be so pleased when I managed to get some packs of smoked bacon past customs as you just couldn't get it out there.
This then developed into hp sauce, cheese and mars bars for the same reason.
Luckily I never got stopped, but I'm sure the cusoms guys would have been surprised to open my bags and found all this food.... :D
