.... a big, hearty, thank you to all those forum members who have patiently spent their time helping out those who are getting to grips with ED for the first time (I wish I could say the same about me, but sometimes my patience wears a little thin).
When I first started ED I was overwhelmed. It felt like the original, but I quickly found out that it was much more grander than that. Dangerous even.
I had a rough time with ED at first, and found it difficult to get to grips with: I kept crashing into asteroids and starports, and having my backside handed to me on a plate in combat.
But, thanks to those who have posted helpful threads and replies (along with YouTube videos), I have managed to improve my skills and work my way through combat zones, trading, and missions, successfully. I eventually earned enough to get the next ship up the ladder. Finally, after lots of epic fails and complacency (when I had the time), I have managed to fly the Type 9 and the Anaconda. Watching videos about docking these beasts proved the most useful, because my heart was in my mouth when docking both ships for the first time. And wow, am I pleased with myself! I didn't even crash into the sides with either.
So, commanders, many thanks for your help in making my ED experience awesome. Give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it!
