If the eyes are the window to the human soul, your cockpit canopy is the window to the universe.
I'd love to see more canopy options, apparently the canopies are pretty high tech since they prevent a CMDR from burning their eyes out while looking at a star. Some other ideas:
Latticed canopies, might have a visible hexagonal or diamond pattern of filament reinforcements and provide better combat durability.
Shaded, mirrored, and tinted canopies. These could be colored or offer benefits like further sun glare reduction or preventing someone outside the vessel from looking into the cockpit.
Tactical functional canopies, for example a high contrast combat canopy or thermal heat signature amplifying canopies.
