General / Off-Topic I would shell out serious cash for an Elite Dangerous show

From a different angle....

What I could imagine though is a bunch of film sequences built into the game, for example when you got your first permit, or when you rank goes up. Then again, what exactly is a bunch? :) Apart from that, the game does not have a story line, perhaps it is not worth it, and cash is better invested in development of game features.

One possible future of games might just be stronger convergence of film and user action. Once the Chaps and Ladies are sampled and digitized, they can be used in every which way, paying royalties to the inheritents then. LOL. I want Charles Bronson to be Cmndr of the Corvette and Jürgen Prochnov (Captain in the German submarine film DAS BOOT) Cmndr of he Imperial Cutter. Hehehe

But now more serious, the worst movies based on a video game, the top five are:

1: Wing Commander
2: Blood Rayne
2: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
3: In the name of the King: A Dungeon Siege tale
4: Alone in the Dark
5: Far Cry
Honorable mention: Doom, Warcraft, Resident Evil: Afterlife, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li

Like, Fdev! C'mon! You've sowed a rich developed sci-fi universe here and it's ripe for the reaping. I'm talkin' high budget TV/HBO series. Maybe a GoT style storytelling where different characters help tell the story of the world all from different perspectives. Like, we got some hotshot independent bounty hunter taking down some thargoids one one hand. On another we got an imperial interdictor crewman fighting the Nova Imperium, and on yet another we got some classy fed diplomat working closely with Felicia Winters. I need that in my life please. Thanks.

(you don't owe me anything by the way, feel free to use all that).

I was hoping for a story for years. It's not gonna happen.

I stand by my statement, there has never been good movie based on a video game. There has been some "meh" at best but a lot of "oh god please make it stop".

Simply anything Uwe Boll made...

The ED verse could be different enough from the tv & movie sci-fi/fantasy already seen where I would keep the galaxy human centric with very few or no aliens in a potential TV show. Elements of "Dark Matter" which originally came from a comic book looked like it could have been set in an ED world. I'd think producers and writers of an ED show or movie would really need to shore up and officialize the overall background lore and story from both the games' history and the ED books already out. Asimov's "Foundation" is planned to be a TV show by Amazon, and the Dune remake is coming so galactic scaled & classic sci-fi seems to be making another attempt on film.
