Hardware & Technical i5 4690 (not K), and 1070: good pairing for ED @ 1080p?

I've got past the excitement of experiencing VR, and now I'm thinking of letting that technology develop some more.

In the meantime, I can look at maximizing my 1080p monitor experience. Would the CPU/GPU combo in the title be good for maxing the performance @ 60FPS on a 1080p monitor?

You should have no issues at all at 1080 - the CPU will cope OK and the GPU is well up to the task

Well, looks like I'm going back to this plan then. VR is nice... But it could better yet.

I'll stick with 1080p gaming for now.
