i7 3770 / GTX 1060 6GB - will it work on Oculus?

I was thinking of buying an Oculus Rift. My PC meets specs published by Oculus, but not by Frontier for Elite VR; my i7 3770 (3.4 GHz) falls just short of the i7 3770K (3.5 GHz).

My specs are:

i7 3770
GTX 1060 6GB
16GB RAM
SSD

Would I be wasting my money buying an Oculus?

I’ve got the same GPU and used to have an i5 4670k, which I think isn’t too different from your i7, and had no problems with Elite in VR.

90fps required knocking a few settings down though I preferred to keep the eye-candy and run with ASW on all the time.

I have 1600+ hours with the exact same setup and it works fine. Mostly medium and high settings with the ED Profiler. Inside stations are glitchy/laggy so I turn ASW off. No problems after that.
