i7 or i9 with 2080Ti for VR in Elite

As title would an i9 make much difference over an i7 for VR in Elite?

I am running a Valve Index with an i5-9600K with a 2060 graphics card without any problems.

i suppose u can cheap out on this, cus VR Elite is soooo GFX dependant. I never saw my 9700kf go above 40% load

ED on Rift S barely touches my 9700k in fact any VR game I have tried hasn’t really got it into a sweat

You can work this out pretty easily with something like Open Hardware Monitor or Libre Hardware Monitor (a fork with slightly different hardware support).

I am running a 4690K from 2014, with a 1080Ti Oc'd to 2.1GHz and my 4x cores stay in the 65%-85% range depending on what I'm doing. Occasional spikes to 100% e.g. in Haz Res rings but not enough to phase me. I'm not even going to think about a system upgrade till Zen 4 in 2021.

Assuming we are talking about the difference between a 6c/12t or 8c/8th and an 8c/16t part, no, not really.

I have i9 with my 2080ti, CPU isn't the restricting factor. GPU is doing most of the work.
