A lot of these features vanished or moved in the 3.0 patch, it may take another search to relocate them as a permanent source of materials. Suggest posting to the geyser and fumarole thread in exploration and see if anyone is in the area to help relocate them. I am on my way back from Colonia atm so still a long way away. If no-one does anything before I get back I may have a look around for them.

Upsilon lava spouts were present in the Beta .... can't think why they have vanished in 3.0
We could really use ALOT more of these Beautiful sites! Would love to see almost an encouragement to get out there and find them (like a detailed geographic scanner or something) where finding these sites reveals them on Galaxy map for all to see!!! and not to mention It would probably pay very well!

Some are tourist sites and have passenger missions to them.
Yeah but these are really limited as it is, I mean to get out there and find them on some of the many potential planets out there without missions. To incorporate natural sites as almost an encouragement for Engineer material seekers!
Odd, I visited the fumaroles @ Sol/Actaea and the geysers @ Sol/Europa just the other day, and both were very active. Not really possible to gather mats @ Actaea because of the ultra-low gravity, but Europa had many chunks to mine. Most were not exotics, though, an occasional antimony is all. Are they given periods of inactivity, like the geysers in Yellowstone often exhibit?
I am getting tired of every fun site or activity being nerfed!! Masacre missions used to be fun and profitable -> nerf hammer, lava spouts to get rare materials -> nerf hammer. There are several other examples. What is the problem with players finding a rare site in the galaxy that helps them with the constant grind?!?!! Is FDev trying to alienate it's most involved player base?

I have visited a number recently in the black about 20kly out, active or not they all had the expected mats. I'm just wondering, as far as mats are concerned, if another player has been there in the last few days, because the mats take quite a while to regenerate, they aren't instanced drops, if another commander collects them they won't be there for you.
