ice mining reccomendation please

Hi

I am thinking of dusting off my mining clipper and trying some ice mining.

does anyone have any good locations?

also what would you say the "3 P's" equivalent is with icemining?

my ship is currently deep in empire space but i can travel for the right work ;)

thanks

Mike.

PS if there is a station offering good prices or ice mining missions near by even better.

I’ve got over a dozen hours in with ice mining now. As to location, just pick ice rings that are pristine, Delkar is a good system for example. As for the 3P’s of ice mining, there aren’t any. Low temp diamonds sell for a lot but they are incredibly rare, the most I’ve gotten so far is literally 3 units of LTD’s after hours of ice mining. Stupidly rare. Ice mining ores are much MUCH less valuable than metallic ring ores. I have found that the best way to make credits ice mining is by FAR ice mining missions, take as many as you can!

Sadly, even with missions, ice mining is MUCH less profitable than metallic mining. It’s like 75% less, maybe even less than that on average. I’m hoping the devs tune the numbers up some, because as it is now, ice mining really isn’t worth the time.

I was ice mining too recently with my fleet and it's indeed less profitable than normal mining. It's a bit sad to be honest, but you might enjoy the view!

Oh the views in the ice rings are spectacular, they did an awesome job with the visuals! Now they just need to buff the profits by about double or more to make it worthwhile.
