Yeah, why have they gone back to sending out newsletters?
I fear we'll see The Ice Pirates.
More reasons to go into more ring types is always a good thing. I'm quite eager. 
I hope, ideally, they can make it so that ice mining requires a slightly different technique than metallic ring mining too. Even something simple like longer time lasering but a higher per-fragment payout to compensate would be cool and add in more diversity.

Well now that Indi Bourbon is legal, we're gonna need plenty of ice!
Anyone notice the minor tease of "Materials the engineers require can be found there" or something like that.

Ah, if the purpose of ice mining is Engineer Materials, does that mean we won't be getting in on 1.6 Xbox? (As we won't have Horizons and engineers). If not, I'm gutted...
Finally a decent reason to visit them again. Hopeful proper rez sites, so we can pew pew in glorious white.
FD teased a big announcement coming very soon for ED on XB1 in Tuesday's stream, so I don't think we'll be waiting for Horizons for much longer (hopefully).
Either way, this a great boost for mining. My Mining Condy is ready and eager to mine that ice!
No, they're described as being for both standard commodities and engineer materials - and engineer materials will also be mined from regular rocky / metallic rings.
Hopefully this will mean a proliferation of new RESes in icy planetary rings.
With ice mining comes ice RES. I've been dreaming of this for awhile now. Obsidian Ant is going to be ecstatic!
A long as its financially rewarding too. I can get about 3 million on a 2 hour single trip, with a full set of limpets in the conda. It saddens me when I realise I how much I could get on an equivalent trading session, but I just love mining so much! If ice mining pays peanuts however, I can't see me sticking at it. Man cannot live by gorgeous vistas alone....
Oh, and where does the refinery fit in to ice mining? I'm assuming it might be superfluous, so can be dispensed with, and the materials will go straight into the hold?

I sometime just fly through them because they're beautiful. Anything that gets a whole heap of commanders going to them gets my vote. Fantastic news. [up]
