On the way back towards my home system after looking at the new archeological site, I stopped at an iceplanet in the Andceeth system.
The scanner said there was potential water geysers on the surface, so I desided to take a detour to see if I could find any.
What a stunning place!
From a height of 2 km, you can see the dark bands of blue ice stretching underneath the white snowy surface. Shallower harder cracks, crisscross the surface ice.
Here and there the water veins gets very closeer to the surface and forms what looks like small pools before disappearing again.
On the steeper slopes, where the weight of the snow has made it collaps, the snow has fallen away revealing the harder stone underneath.
I the distance, bright blue hills of clear ice and yellow brown mountains of dusty rock line the horizon, and behind it all, in the sky, sits the big ringed gas giant.
I spent about 30 minutes just flying around looking at the view. The Feds keept dropoing in to scan me. I guess they were wondering what the heck I was doing.
In the end I did not find any geysers, but what a great view I got of the planet Andceeth 6 A.
Frontier has done an outstanding job on these ice worlds.
It. Looks. Amazing.
