Dolphin Iced-out Dolphin?

Thanks Three Stars, but yeah, I think that's a given, and why cool ships make good smugglers. Of course any ship can ice out with heatsinks.

The detection thing is why I like thermal vent so much on my beams. I think it acts as cloaking (reduced detection, like a heatsink) in combat, and is especially useful against wings, or at least it seems so. It doesn't make you invisible, and the ship you're shooting doesn't seem affected (or maybe at such close range it has limited effectiveness)

For ships like the Dolphin and Orca I am icing them out for the stealth. For example if it works like I think it does, a station will have to wait until you're much closer to initiate a scan, making getting through the airlock a snap.

Do you feel the cool-running helps in any way on the mission profiles you're running? Like are you transporting wanted criminals

Doing the runs from Robigo Mines is pretty safe in itself. Cool running is extra insurance.
Sometimes i do get Bounty hunters and in such cases being cool helps

Dolphin is an excellent exploration ship

It is, indeed. I'm liking my new Dolphin. It's fast, has good jump, runs frosty. Supercruise handling and scoop performance are both excellent. But the Orca's better. It's faster and jumps farther. It rolls like a truck though, the Dolphin is better in supercruise no doubt.

I'm using these ships in the transport role. And for that, the Orca's class 6 slot is a difference maker. In the sightseeing and VIP transport business, that's a marked advantage. Some fares just won't fit on the Dolphin, like one that requires 7 first-class seats, or luxury missions with more than 4. Small-pad capability isn't a thing with this role. The Dolphin is great, and I'm using it often, it just isn't quite the ship the Orca is, which is expected with one being large and one small. Having both is great, and my Interstellar Transportation Company looks the business with two of the finest transport craft in the galaxy. Both are fine, fast and frosty. The clientele appreciates the class and refinement that Saud Kruger provides.

This is the Orca. It can mount a double-engineered FSD to maximize jump range. 642 boost / 507 four-pip cruise, 58 jump. The FSD runs a point hotter, so this ship idles at 13-14% now. But that class 6 slot is great, and having several class 5s means I can mix and match cabins and scoops to take on any VIP mission.

Sunburst Orca -- Interstellar Style Magnet

The Dolphin is slower, but still fast at 591 boost and 422 cruise, 50 jump, and runs a couple points cooler. Of course Corilolis adds a couple m/s to displayed speed. My ships always are a couple meters per second slower than what Coriolis says.
