I'd Like A Manufactured and Encoded Version of Crystalline Structures, Please?

I've just recently gotten in to PvP in ED, and I've already learned a valuable lesson.
Being in to PvP, basically means you need to be really really good/lucky at finding materials, then be actually good at PvP.
Since getting on the PvP ladder, I've basically spent 90% of my time, looking for materials, and about 9% flying to various engineer bases to apply specials.

So basically I'm an utter PvP noob, because it takes so damn long to build, field test, adjust, and master a single ship and loadout.

However, since finding out about the awesome Biological Crystalline Structures, some 1600ly away, I've never really had to worry about raw elements (except selenium, and I can just trade for it). Sure it takes a while to get there, and farm all the sites, and (optionally) fly home, but it's a sure thing, no RNG involved. I love it. And now when I get low, I can nip to a local geological site to top up, and away I go.

This makes me happy.

Encoded and Manufactured, however, do not.
Apart from missions that offer a select few materials, there is no sure way to gather these things. I can spend days trying to find just a handful of one material I'm looking for.

I don't like it .

So, is there ant way we could get some kind of encoded and Manufactured version of those Crystalline Structures?
I don't mean just some random improvised components growing out of the ground, I mean like, a debris field, that's dangerous and difficult to navigate, but rewards you on plentiful G5s for your efforts....?

Me too!
As an explorer I'm full of raw materials but no way to got some data and manufactured.
Data can be easily integrated with lost and destroyed ships out in the black (procedural generated crashed sites on planets and USS) that would also break the monotony of exploration.
For manufacturing there should be a new family of materials belonging to alien civilization that we may discover while exploring the galaxy. Those should be exchanged at material traders.

I wonder if one could add more functionality to the research limpet controller, to sample more things and then be able to trade those sames in at Material Brokers for "Credit" to purchase materials.

This is a funny post, because I'm the polar opposite.

I have no trouble getting any manufactured or encoded mats; I'd go as far as to say i have too many. Gathering them is as close to a sure thing as you can get.

But raw mats... damn, they're hens teeth to me. There's just no way to get them without explicitly setting out to do so.

PS not saying your experience is wrong... just saying maybe the problem for both of us is simply a matter of play choices.

Yeah G5 raw mats suck, but if you actively set out to get a certain one you can be overflowing with them in no time. Just go to a landable planet with volcanism with your desired material.

What I do for encoded is scan ships whenever they happen to be in the direction of my destination - whatever I'm doing.
Not an encoded gold mine but they accumulate slowly. Also it gives me something to do in the long SC minutes.

I can get all G1-3 manufactured and encoded quite easily, and most G4's.
But some of the G5s are just ridiculous.
It's pretty poor that the "meta" for getting the G5 you want, is zoom around certain systems for imperial shielding, then trade them for ~16 of what you do want.

Elements I can just visit a geological site for a quick top up, and know exactly what will be there, by looking at the elements list on the system map for said planet.
Or fly out to the crystalline structures, but they're 1600ly and 300,000ls away, but you can max out all bar Selenium, then optionally suicide home (but it pays to hand in the exploration data after your first trip, so you don't need to scan it all again).

I do this too. But that scan data class doesn't seem to be used for much. 🙄

Planetary scan missions seem to be the only source for encryption files materials. Data archives and encoded firmware types can be found with hacking installations. The rest is ship and wake scanning. Encoded signal sources are rather hit or miss but you also find g4 manufactured materials there half the time.

Any of the stations in Robigo will offer passenger missions with Modified firmware, Exquisite focus crystals, Biotech conductors and a selection of G4 mats as well, the missions pay well and add to your exploration rating but they are boring as they all have the same destination two jumps away.

Fly through Empire systems and scan for HGE's, as they'll generally drop Imperial Shielding collect it and trade for whatever you need.

For G4 mats and below Davs hope (abandoned planetary base) is the answer just trundle around the base scooping up mats in the SRV and repeat until bored or full.
